Local News Page 8A Hie Giiffney Ledger. Friday, April 24. 1998 Piedmont Health Care Center, Rock Hill. A native of Cullman, she was the widow of Billy Grey Marsh and daughter of the late William Bernard and Nora Aldrich Burrows. She was a homemaker and member of St.

Timothy's Episcopal Church in Columbia. Survivors include one son, Billy G. Marsh Jr. of Phoenix City, one daughter, Meredith Marsh Gibson of York; and two grandchildren. Shuford-I latcher Funeral Home is in charge.

James Wood James Wood, 67, of 108 Yale died Wednesday, April 23, 1998, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, he was the widower of Annie Ruth Logan Wood and son of Marie Huskey Wood and the late Con-nington Wood. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include two daughters, Sliirley Wood and Julia Steward, both of Gaffney; one sister, Daisy Wood of Louisville, one brother, Connington Wood of Houston, Texas; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 3 p.m.

Monday in Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Dr. J.W. Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Youngs Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Heywood Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.

Mary McDowell Services for Mary L. McDowell, 74, of 203 Hampton will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home with the Revs, Wilbert Jamison and Freddie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Flowerbearers will be her nieces. The family may be visited tonight at 7 at Foster Funeral Home. Helen Marsh YORK Helen Burrows Salvia Ann Adams Sylvia Ann Adams, 37, of died April 22, 1998, in Spartanburg Regional Medieal Center, A native of Cherokee County, the wus the wife of Michael ane Adams and daughter of 'Jerry and Kmily Moore Byars lr. of Hlarksburg and Paul and Judith Parker Ravan of Gail'iiey. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Also surv iving are two sisters, Amanda Byars of Blacksburg and Angela Ravan of Gaffney; three brothers, Wayne Byars of Gaffney, Richard Ravan of Spartanburg and Michael Ravan of Cowpens; one grandchild; grandmothers, Sybil Scruggs and Grace Parker, both of Gaffney; two nieces and one nephew. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at White Columns Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Henry Coley and Sherry Moss officiating. Burial will be in Clinghman Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Byars, Richard Ravan, Michael Ravan, Robert Braxton, Jimmy Martin and Rocky Parton. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Byars, 1549 E. Cherokee Blacksburg.

Maggie Hawkins Maggie Mintz Hawkins, 70, of 127 Anthony died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at her residence. A native of Cherokee County, she was the wife of Hoyt Hawkins and daughter of the late Hal Shirley and Ruby Poole Mintz. She was a retired textile employee and member of South-side Baptist Church. Also surviving arc one son, Ted Hawkins of Gaffney; one brother, Knox Mintz of Cliffside; two sisters, Mrs. Max Hines and Mrs.

James A. McCraw, both of Gaffney; and one grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shuford-I latcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Goforth officiating.
