About fifteen leading business men held a meeting in the director's room of Judge Harry Lander, of BrookSeld, was ia circuit court this week looking after the motion for a new trial in the Sawyer-Owen case.

The Missouri commissioners propose to range a splendid program, and will make a determined effort to have the attendance on Missouri Day a very large one.

Missouri's appropriation for a building and exhibit at the exposition is the general organization. Membership fee for each individual or firm was fixed at 5.00.

It is needless to say that Macon urgently needs just such an organization and with hearty co-operation and proper enterprise the new Commercial Club can accomplish much to protect and promote the welfare of our city. It is to be hoped many friends and receiving their congratulations. A telegram was received here yesterday stating that Mrs. Martha Roberts was taken suddenly sick and lying at the point of death at her home in Brook-field. Her daughter, Mrs.

F. W. Fisher left Tuesday night for Vienna, where he has been called as pastor of the Presbyterian church. About two years ago he resigned as pastor of thia church, desiring a change pf climate for the benefit of his health. These two years he spent as pastor at large of Palmyra Presbytery, making his home in Macon.
