RUNNER-UP IN SWEETHEART CONTEST Linda Smith, blonde Gatesville High School charmer and sweetheart of the school's Future Farmer chapter, barely missed election as Area VIII FFA sweetheart in a contest at Waco last Friday.

There were nine nominees for area sweet-, heart and Miss Smith was runner -up, lacking only one vote of winning election. Miss Smith is the daughter of Benjamin Smith of Gatesville. "She certainly did an excellent job of representing us at the area convention," FFA Advisor Carroll Smith re- "The Stranger" Returns To Local Theatre When you see the unsmiling, laconic stranger- Tony Anthony-riding across the vast stretches of a Mexican desert, seemingly harmless but possessed of a fury of devils, you know that you are soon going to be involved in an unremitting series of pulse-pounding adventures in "The Stranger Returns." This new production again stars Anthony as the trigger-quick stranger who pits his wits and ingenuity against that of a band of cut-throat outlaws, the vivid characterization which he originated in the widely successful "A Stranger Town." The movie opens urday at Town and Country Drive- In Theatre for a threeday run. Moving onto the outdoor screen next Wednesday are two "Dino" shows, "Dean Martin as Matt Helm" probably is one of the most familiar of all motion picture phrases today, as a result of the star's phenomenal success in two super spy spoofs, "Murderers Row" and Silencers." The twin bill is filled with girls like AnnMargret, Stella Sevens, Cyd Charisse and of course the "Slaygirls," without whom no Matt Helm super-agent adventure could be complete. MRS.
