Local News- Page 8 The Gaffney Ledger, Monday, Aug. 5, 1996 OBITUARIES Shelia Wallace Shelia Denise Falls Wallace, 40, of 123 Leadmine died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Gaffney, she was the former wife of Ulysses Wallace and daughter of Norma Falls. Also surviving are one daughter, Sharena Wallace of the home; three sons, Isley Wallace, Quesley Wallace and Shunley Wallace of the home; and three grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Lula Jamison, 310 Sarratt St. Foster Funeral Home is in charge. Della Deal Services for Della Simmons Deal, 85, of 214 Hill will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery.

Foster Funeral Home is in charge. Corene Stapleton SPARTANBURG Corene Martin Stapleton, 68, of 121 Sprouse died Friday, Aug. 2, 1996, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Paul W. Stapleton.

She was a member of Clifton Second Baptist Church and was retired from Hoechst Celanese Corporation. Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Stapleton Wilkins of Boiling Springs; two sons, Paul R. Stapleton of Moore and Charles Randall Stapleton of Lake Bowen; two sisters, Faye Sue Edge of Spartanburg and Elizabeth Allison of Gaffney; one brother, Felix Martin of Cowpens; and six grandchildren. Services were held today at 11 a.m. mare at Bobo Funeral, conducted by the Revs.

David Frost and David Moore. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the residence. Dr. Olin Jolley Olin Jolley, 33, of Durham, N.C., died Saturday, Aug.

3, 1996, in Durham, N.C. A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of Olin and Annette Burgess Jolley. He graduated from Duke University and the Medical University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill He attended Olin Binkley Bap tist Church in Chapel Hill. Also surviving are one sister, Debbie Tabor of Greenville; and paternal grandmother, Bessie Jolley of Chesnee. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m.

at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. John Huckaby and John Goforth officiating. Visitation will be held in the activities building following the services. The family is at the home of Olin Jolley, 346 Bonner Gaffney. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Fund at Duke, Dr.

A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of Mary Wilson Gregory of Blacksburg and Randy Marion Huskey of the home. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Van Williams officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The Gilmore Mortuary is in charge. Otice Blackwell Otice Howard Blackwell, 72, of 302 E. died Friday, Aug.

2, 1996, at his residence. A native of Cherokee County, he was the widower of Edithe Walker Blackwell and son of the late Jeff and Iretta Earls Blackwell. He was retired from the Spartanburg Herald Journal after 35 years of service and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Blackwell Bridges of Gaffney; one son, Anthony H. Walker of Gaffney; four brothers, Jeff Blackwell Jr.

and A.G. Blackwell, both of Gaffney, Etoise P. Blackwell of Colorado Springs, and Frank Blackwell of Cherokee Falls; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Leroy Leroy (Dibby) Cole, 69, of 754 State Line died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Gaffney, he was the son of the late Weaver and Macy Ruppe Cole. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Surviving is one brother, Edward (Jack) Cole of Gaffney.

Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Shuford -Hatcher Chapel with the Rev. Chris Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marshall Beason, Gene Littlejohn, Lanford Littlejohn, Charles McCraw, Phillip Whisenant and Solon Ruppe.

Robert Hawkins Robert Lawson Hawkins, 69, of 4135 Laurel Hills Raleigh, N.C., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 1996, at his home. A native of Shelby, he was the husband of Ann Moorhead Hawkins, formerly of Blacksburg, and son of the late Robert Newton and Mildred Cabaniss Hawkins.

He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and had a graduate degree in education from Duke University, He was principal of Martin Junior High School until his retirement from public schools. Later he was principal of the John Nicols School at the Oxford, N.C., orphanage. Potter and son of the late W.S. and Geneva Godfrey Potter. He was retired from Southern Loom Reed, a Navy veteran and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Also surviving are one son, Terry E. Potter of Gaffney; four sisters, Pauline Hammett, Dean Wallace and Janette Hawkins, all of Gaffney, and Shuford Hatcher Funeral Home 211 Frederick St.
