in St. Casimir's Church. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Legal Local Democrats have one thing in mind, above everything else, these days, and it's not Christmas! It's the inauguration of Governor-elect David L.

Lawrence in Harris-burg in front of the State Capitol at noon on January 20, 1959. A feature of the inauguration will be a mammoth parade in which Democratic organizations from each of the state's 67 counties have been invited to participate and an Inaugural ball to be hejd at Harrisburg's Zembo Mosque. State Supreme Court Justice Charles Alvin Jones will administer the oath of office to Governor Lawrence. Pittston City Democrats plan to be "on-deck" one hundred percent strong. They are presently working "with" County Chairman, Dr.

John L. Dorris, who, himself, wants to put the Democrats in the "spotlight" at the inauguration with a mammoth display from the County of Luzerne. A forceful, large group will act as an eye-catcher and have its effect when patronage is available from Harris-burg. We've been told that the list will be scanned with a fine-tooth comb in order to keep and "traitors" from mixing with loyal party stal warts. rhnnell.

Garden Village coal baron, due to his personal frlPtiHsh with "uave" Jbaw- rence will have a choice seat at Inaumiration festivities. Jack was a Democrat employee in Harrisburg during the Earie Administration and continued a friendship with the Governor-elect and the chairman of the Turnpike Commission, Jo-Jo Lawler, all these years. Mr. Lawrence was Secretary of the Commonwealth at that time. Jack has always been a staunch Democrat and It has "paid-off." It has been suggested to County Chairman Dorris that he try for a Cabinet place for some loyal Luzerne County Democrat, We are in favor of this and urge Mr.

Dorris to put on the "steam" immediately if he has not already done so. He could point out that neighboring Lackawanna has received new roads, buildings, appointments and almost everything they desired during the Leader tenure and now it's time to give Luzerne a "break," especially since Mr. Lawrence carried the county in such a splendid manner. As former Senator Peter M. Margie used to say, "it's the squeaking wheel that gets the grease." Let's begin "squeaking," Doctor! Political Column, Pittston Gazette: We want to congratulate you on last week's column, especially the paragraph in regard to the "Republicans" who "flopped" to the Democratic party in the November 4 election.

How right you are! And believe me, it had a good effect as I have noticed that some of the "sleepers" have at least put in their appearance "on time." One thing could be mentioned however, you could suggest that City Hall is over-staffed and a few dismissals would be in order to save the taxpayers some money. Signed: J. W. Neighboring Lackawanna got its first political "slap-in-the-face" this week at Harrisburg when Senator Hugh McMena- Legal ACCOUNTANT Jottini min came, in second-best as the Senate Minority Leader. Mike Lawler spoke for.

Mr. McMena-min and is reported to have had the OK from Mr. Lawrence and Democratic State Chairman Jo seph Barr. However, Rep. William Green, Philadelphia City Chairman thought differently and pushed through the election of Sen.

Charles Weiner, his 28th Ward lieutenant. You realize, of course, that Mr. Green doesn't feel any too kindly about 'neighboring Lackawanna, for various reasons, and will, for the next four years be a "thorn in the side" of the lads from Lackawanna."
