peered, to represent te LOCAL OLEAHIHOSt ick, John Gorda and George Tagra, I and rp Max Levmgkindjiros. 10 Recommends Cleveland's Snpsrior BaHcj Powder, and condemns the nse of Amritii ta Bating Powder. is to certify that 1 1 have examined Cleveland's Superior Baking Powder, samples of which I purchased in open market, and I that can recommend it as a good, wholesome, and unadulterated article. It does not contain ammonia, an ingredient of many baking powders, and one which I regard as highly objectionable since it seriously impairs digestion. I have examined biscuits baked with an ammoniated powder, and have found, as has been repeatedly that the ammonia was still there; Cleveland's powder gave the amount of pure carbonic acid claimed for it by the manufacturers.

P. Bobtnaon baa in press, soon to be Issued, a first class reference work which will contain all the advantages which a directory, of the oittaen of our twin borough can desire. A thorough and careful canvass has been made' and shows a decided Increase In the population since the last census. No pain or expense will be spared to make it equal (in it service of usefulness) to tha di rectories of our largest cities. The change which hare recently taken place in regard to bosiness locations will be corrected to the hour of going to press.

The new officer of the Commonwealth recently installed into office will appear in the directory, and also the recently elected, officer of societies and associations. C---C- Th comparative value of books of reference is often of much importance to people who have to consult them in haste for the service they require of. them.
