(UPI) Pre weekend profit taking trimmed a good advance on the New York Stock Exchange riday Trading was moderately active Prices advanced steadily from the opening peaking around the fourth hour The list held to its best level until sellers stepped in the final half hour Despite the selling many of the glamor issues scored large gains The United Press Internation al stock market indicator showed a gain of 024 per cent on the 1371 issues traded There were 600 gainers and 501 losers Sixteen issues touched new 1966 highs while 105 fell to new lows Using April 1 1966 prices as a 100 base the UPI indicator stood at 9265 The New York Stock Ex change index showed a 1 gain equal to 11 cents in the average share price Trading totaled 6230000 shares compared with 5700000 shares Thursday Sperry Rand was the volume leader rising 7 8 to 32 7 8 on 213500 shares Magnavox added to 53 on 132800 shares in second place and Bourns Inc gained the same amount to 96 1 2 on 87400 shares in third place Steels started firm but turned fractionally lower Autos were soft paced by General Motors with a loss of 11 4 shed 3 4 Airlines overcame start and finished Northwest rose 21 4 tai 1 1 2 Trans World 1 7 8 Pan
