To Register Children For Polio Vaccine The doctors on the staff of the Bennington Well Child Clinic are co-operating with the Vermont Department of Health and the Bennington Community Nursing Service in registering infant and preschool children in the village for planned polio vaccine clinics. The Vermont Department of Health, with state medical and education authorities, is going forward with the vaccination of children against poliomyelitis. The plan is to conduct i program progressively through priority age groups.

If parents wish their children to receive this immunization in clinics they are asked to sign a card form. It is hoped that these injections will given as soon as pos- i sible. The dates will be determined by the availability of the vaccine. If parents wish to go to their family physician, on a private basis, for polio vaccination, they are urged to let the doctor know in advance so that the vaccine may be secured from the Health Department. On Saturday of this week from 9 to 10:30 a.m., registration of village children from two months through five years of age for polio immunization will be held at the Well-Child Conference at the Bennington Elementary School.

Kindergarten children in the public schools have been registered. The vaccine is in short supply at the present time, and school age groups already registered have not all received first doses in clinics this year. However, the Health Department is anxious that all children to attend clinics be listed in advance to facilitate setup and administration when supplies are received. Similar arrangements are underway in other towns and villages in' the Bennington area.
