Lindenwood Court and to drop the and designations of two Lindenwood streets which have caused confusion resulting from duplication of house numbers Commissioners decided to change numbers on the present Lindenwood Court to a 2400 series House -numbers there are currently in the 3300 series as are house numbers on Lindenwood Drive To add to the confusion one street is a continuation of the other 1 Protesting the proposal were Tol Terrell of 3328 Lin-denwood Court and Ben O'Neal of 3302 Lindenwood Cburt Terrell warned that other city streets have similar problems and O'Neal added that quietly listening Housing Authority Chair man Bob Hicks outlined how the program now exists Margaret Purvis of the Authority explained there are 1494 low income families in Midland Including 3413 children and 787 low income persons over age 65 She reported that 683 per cent of the low income population is white and 3L7 per cent its black Hicks explained that there are already 244 housing authorities in Texas Involving 56000 housing units He added that if Midland did not use the housing and urban development grant available for tne program some other community would use the same money so it would not save Midland taxpayers any money to kill the program Average rent to families taking part in the program would range from $21 to $60 per month with a ceiling of $3900 family income for
