Farmfngdale, and some brick is boing received in this city again from Rich? mond. In New York City the dealers havo about 1,500,000 brick in stack at their yards, thero are six barge loads still at tlie wholesale docks at West Fifty seeSond Street, making a round total of brick available in this market to-dav of about 6.300,000. In the mean time r-M'road facilities are being made avail? able to such a degree that up river brick is coming in in great quantities dailv at Thirty-third Street, Sixtleth Street and 180th Street in Manhattan, and at the Melrose and Westchester stations in the Bronx. Tha brick manufactur? ers report they have about 150,000,000 burned and ready for market up tho river, and the probabilities are that by now the total is nearer 200,000,000. In the meanwhile Kingston manufactur? ers are preparing to compete with the Haverstraw stocks as soon as it is pos? sible to break the Hudson River ice barrier.

There are fourteen barges now loaded at Kirfgston that will be rushed to this market to compete with the Haverstraw stocks while the market re mains at the $25 level. Prohable Recesslon In Priceg From Eatontown, N. word was sent to architects and dealers last week to the effect that it was now possible to obtain quotations on any quantity of brick desired. There are those in the building ma? terial market who say that brick and other building material prices have not yet reached their highest point. It seems probable to some persons that there will be some rccessions in prices in basic commodities within the next six weeks if the situation regard? ing supply and demand continues to move as it is now- progressing.

The sudden turnabout in the building outlook is due to the great number of building projects that have been in definiteTy deferred because of the pro hibitlve bids made for building ma? terials and the cost of construction, based upon preliminary estimates. The volume of this construction work that has thus been postponed is greater than is generally supposed, and it is due to tho outspoken word of financial men against further advances in cost of materials and construction that has at last stopped the stampede for build? ing materials, eased up the demand upon manufacturers and is showing the way toward a condition of stability of prices during the spring season at least, or until tho actual pace of the 1920 pring building movement can be actu? ally determined. $100,000 Church Planned For Jackson Heights Trustees of the Community Metho dist Episcopal Church at Jackson Heights, Borough of Queens, have ap? proved tentatively plans for a new community chrurch edifice to erected at Jackson Heights, prepared by Frederick Putnam Platt Bro.
