Additional Sports HEINE AND JOHNNIE TOO MUCH FOR THE TIGERS LOS ANGELES, Sept, Heitmuller, home-run hitter, stole two bases, Chech curve out of the park in the sixth Inning. That made Castleton look winner. Fle continuel to look that way until the ninth inning, when he handed Los Angeles the tie run with wild heave to first. This is a new way of gettins knocked out of the box.

Anvway, that throw. finished Castleton, and burden was forthwith shifted to John Brackenridge. John bore up under well, not only snuffing out the rallyette, but striking out five of the batters who appeared at the plate from time. time in the succeeding three innings. Three men were caught at the plate and "Pop" Dillon was ostracized; the thing was not devoid of excitement despite the paucity of runs.

"Pop' got his in the seventh, when Chech was called out for what President Baum terms "technical interference." Boles was on first in the seventh by virtue his own single. Chech hit the ball. bounced in front of the plate and Chech nit it again. Agnew gathered it in and threw to second, but too late to nail Boles. Whereupon Chech was called out for "technical interference." LOS ANGELES.

(J. Quinn) 2:09, BERKELEY HIGH DEFEATS U. C. BABES BY 10 TO 0 BERKELEY, Sept. 27.

The blue and gold freshmen went down to defeat yesterday afternoon, 10 to 0, at the hands of the Berkeley high school 15. The game was one of the fastest ever seen on the local campus. The high school men ran up the score in the first half when Coach Schaffer of the university had a rather weak team on the field. During the second half, a stronger aggregation was substituted and no further score was made. The passing of the high school backs was one of the features of the game, the combination work of the five-eighths and center three-quarters being almost perfect.

At critical moments, however, there was a tendency to fumble, and this was responsible for the loss of more than one try. The work of the blue and gold forwards was very effective and was responsible in a large measure in keeping the score down. The forward play at times was inclined to be fierce, and some of the players in their zest for the game were prone to disregard the rules. During the entire second half the play was almost entirely in neutral territory, although toward the end the babies were attacking the high school goal, the visitors being compelled to save on one occasion. The game closed with the ball In the center of the field.

The blue and gold lineups have been announced for Saturday's games. The first varsity will line up against the Olympic club and the second team will play the Sacramento Athletic cluub. The lineups are as follows: First varsity--McKim. Dougers, Saunders, Hollister, Fish, King, Stroud, forwards: Morris, halfback; Smith, Gral, five -eighths; Dills, Allen, Peart, three-quarters; Montgomery, fullback. Second -Waldner.

Howard, Miller, Hoskins, Livingston, Coolidge, Holden. forwards: Canfield, halfback; Campbell, Hamlin, five-eighths; Harlowe, Mini, Hill, three-quarters; Price, fullback. PRINCETON DEFENSE STRONG. PRINCETON. N.

DUCKS WHIP SEALS IN RED-HOT SLUGFEST PORTLAND, Sept. 27. Portland made it three straight from San Francisco terday by winning 9 to 6. The game a slugfest, each team having one pitcher batted 1 out of the box.

In the third inning the Beavers made five hits and sacrifice off Arlett, which counted four runs. These, with one scored in first on two hits, gave Portland a 5. to lead. Higginbotham had been going nicely for Portland, but in the fourth Reidy's men hopped on to him, for five clean drives, two registering on Wagner's single and Wagner himself scoring Golvin's hit. Higginbotham yielded four more hits in the next frame, Zimmerman and Wagner each batting in one run.

That tied the score. Arlett, however, again found the going hard and he once allowed two hits, walked one man and hit anther, forcing in a run. McCorry was sent in with three. bases full and none out. Hits by Fisher and Rapps, however, brought in three more runs, before McCorry steadled: After that McCorry retired the Beavers in one, two, three order.

With a four run lead McCredie decided to take no chances, SO unsteady Higginbotham was retired and Harkness sent in. Speck allowed one run in the sixth, but after that kept out of trouble. McAvoy, the first two times up, contributed two baggers, but once he. was caught in trying to stretch it to a triple and the next time he died on second. Wagner hit in two of the Seal runs and scored one run himself.

Portland's first run was a gift Chadbourne had singled and advanced on Dean's -sacrifice. Rodgers went out and then Fitzgerald sent high fly to third base. Corhan jumped in and drove McAvoy away from the play, then stepped away and let the ball hit on safe ground. Chad scored on the play and Fitzgerald went to second. Score: SAN FRANCISCO.
