criminal mischief Marsha Sue ToungueL Miles forgery by passing and robbery Lucas Lee Watson 327 Preusser SL burglary of a vehicle Men women and propriety The longer I live the more I realize that there are definite differences between men and women Beyond the physical stuff I mean We simply have different views about what is and proper For example males eat out of the container If he feels like diving into some leftovers in the refrigerator or if he wants some ice cream a male will eat right out of whatever it is the food is In There may or may not be a female mother wife whatever around to say a which is what women do when going to eat something They get a bowl and scoop food from the container and put it in the bowl Although men consciously think about it pretty sure they an know there are good reasons for eating out of the container For one thing easier You just get a spoon or fork and go at it and you have a dirty bowl to mess with when through Also you never know how much going to eat when you start so if you get a bowl you might scoop out too much or not enough and there's no reason to take that risk when you can eat exactly the correct amount right out of the container Same thing with milk My mother finally stopped urging a at my brothers and me when we slugged gulps of milk from the carton probably because she knew that when she around we never got a glass anyway My sister of course never drank milk from the carton I am generalizing here id course Not all males take their food and drink straight from the container and not all females go to the trouble of getting a bowl or glass But generalizations tend to reflect definite trends which is how they become generalizations in the first place Beds come to mind here Men see no reason to make up beds unless they have children trying to teach to make up their beds although most guys would be hard-pressed to explain why important to teach kids thaL Hen know they're just going to be sleeping in the bed again that night so it's hard to understand why it needs to be made up in the morning unless some visitor is going to see it and even then a close call An unmade bed is an affront to women They view disheveled sheets and blankets as representative of most evils we encounter during our lives and perhaps even a few that been discovered yet It is my opinion that the average woman would rather take a swig of milk from the carton than leave a bed unmade all day Another thing males are more inclined than women to do is to view the sights while driving Aiming his vehicle down the highway a man sees nothing wrong with making extended inspections of the goats hitchhikers truck stops and other interesting scenery along the way Not only do females not do this they don't even get to look at the scenery when not driving because they figure somebody has to watch the road And then there are telephones All those jokes they used to tell about women talking on the telephone are absolutely true With few exceptions men are incapable of spending long stretches on the telephone unless there is a lengthy list of specific things to talk about Without such a list there are likely to be long lapses in conversation even if it's a close friend on the other end A female can spend an hour and a half talking to another female hang up then call a different female and talk another hour Somehow this invigorates them whereas a male would be exhausted by the same exercise A female becomes so engrossed on the telephone she probably won't even tell you to get a bowl And this one other difference I ought to mention Females get really ticked off about generalizations S-T photo by David Branch Brian Easley (kneeling) Diana Carillo and Jerred Cowart (kneeling background) place do" She says he is objecting to the test for publicity and attention Brooks says he is standing up for a principle Ms Ardoin and two other parents went to the school board last May to demand more stringent controls on drugs in the school Last month the district began mandatory testing for drugs and alcohol of all students in grades six through 12 who participate in extracurricular activities All but 37 of the high school's 300 students are involved in extracurricular activities or have volunteered to be tested Crews said Brooks was the first to balk East Chambers is the third state
