Beene announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Kay, to Arthur Davis Tripp, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Tripp of Stilwell.

The wedding will be an event of August 16 at 7:30 p.m., in the First Baptist Church at Stilwell. Rev. Paul Palmer of Muskogee will I officiate at the ceremony. No formal invitations are beling issued but friends are cordially invited to attend. The bride-elect graduated from Stilwell High School and attended Oklahoma A and M.

Col(lege, Stilwater, and Northeastfern, Tahlequah. Mr. Tripp was graduated from High School and attends -Northeastern State College where he is a member. of Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He served with the 45th Division twenty months.

Patterson-Green Vows Announced Mr. and Mrs. Henry Green of Stilwell announce the marriage of their daughter, Ollie, to Joe Myrl Patterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Patterson of Stilwell.

The wedding was an event of Saturday, July 5, at Van Buren, Arkansas. The bride chose for her wed-ding dress a white nylon dress orchid accessories. Margaret Sue Patterson and Doyle Asbill served as maid of honor and best man. Miss Patterson chose a blue nylon dress with white accessories. The couple will make their Shome in Denver.

Colorado, where Mr. Patterson is Mrs. B. F. Green returned Wednesday after spending a week visiting with relatives in Canada and attending the wedding of her I sister, Miss Calene Lewis in Marine City, Mich.

Mrs. Ted Sebastian will leave Saturday evening by train to spend a two-week vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Harless and daughter, Glenna Sue, in Tenn. Mr.

and Mrs. Leroy Towry, Mr. Mrs. Leo Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs.

"Sug" Worsham, will leave Saturday for St. Louis, Mo. They will spend a week vacationing there. Word was received in Stilwell yesterday that Mrs. R.

C. (Tip) Atchley underwent an operation Tuesday in an Amarillo, Texas, hospital. Her daughter, Mrs. James Scacewater of Noel, is with Mrs. Atchley, according to reports received here.

Leroy Hummingbird of Tulsa visited in Stilwell this week with friends and relatives. Hummingbird is a former member of Company I of the 45th Dvision and has recently gotten his discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hummingbird and family of Tulsa visited over the week-end with Mrs.

Hummingbird's mother, Mrs. Kate Hogner and family. Estil Walkingstick of Tulsa spent the Foureh of July weekend in Stilwell visiting with relatives and friends. He returned to Tulsa Sunday. Mr.

and Mrs. Arthur Patterson of Stilwell announce the marriage of their daughter, Margaret Sue, to Doyle Asbill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Asbill of Stilwell, Saturday, July 5, at Van Buren, Arkansas. The bride chose for her wedding dress a navy blue nylon dress with white accessories.

The couple's only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Myrl Patterson, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, who served as matron of honor and best man. Mrs. Patterson chose a white nylon dress with orchid accessories.

The couple will make their home in Stilwell. District Deputy of Rebekah Lodge Visits Here Miss Effie Ratcliff, of Wagoner, District Deputy of Rebekah Lodge met with Rebekahs of Stilwell in the home of Mrs. Donell Hawes. Visitors were Mrs. Mary Harrington, Noble Grand, Tahlequah; Mrs.

Mae Thorn, Deputy of lodge, and Miss Rateliff's sister, Miss Elizabeth Rateliff of Wagoner. WSCS Circle Has Pot Luck Supper Circle 3 of the WSCS of the First Methodist Church met Tuesdy evening at 7 o'clock in the church annex with a pot luck supper. Mrs. Mildred Fletcher and Miss Maurine Dodgen gave the lesson. Miss Bea Dodgen, chair1 man, took over planning of a Bible study to be started soon.

Members present were Mrs. Marilyn Spencer, Mrs. Mary Lou McNeely, Mrs. Mildred Fletcher, Mrs. Sarah Hall, Miss Opal Leatherwood, Miss Beatrice Dodgen and Miss Maurine Dodgen.

Miss Dixie Jo Bateman and Miss Mary Brown left Stilwell last Wednesday for Denver, where they will visit with Miss Bateman's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Morella. Miss Bateman plans to enroll in college this fall at Tucson, Ariz. Mr.

and Mrs. Ellis Guthrie of Hardesty, Oklahoma, are spending two weeks with Mrs. Guthrie's mother, Mrs. Kate Hogner and family of Fairfield community. Mr.

and Mrs. John Hooker of Tulsa spent the week-end ing in the home of Mrs. Hooker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.

B. Spicer and Mary Louise of Stilwell. Private Donald Lee Spicer visited over the week-end in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Parker and daughter. Tommie Ann, of Wichita, Kansas, spent the weekend visiting in the home of Mr. Parker's mother, Mrs.

W.

Mehegan Monday night. After the invocation by Rev. Gordon Spencer a picnic lunch prepared by the members was served. Following this a business session was held and officers elected as follows: president; Claude Todd; vice presidnet, Charles Hurlbut; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. C.

W. Mehegan; teacher, Rev. Spencer. John Duckworth -is sponsor of the group. After the election Mr.

Todd took charge of the meeting and gave a short talk to the group, charging them with the great possibilities, which are theirs through co-operation and high aims toward buceng a stronger church and a better community. The class also voted to hold one fellowship meeting a month, with the next to be held the week of August 4. Definite date will be announced later cohosts will be James McNeeley and Charles Hurlbut. After the benediction by Rev. Spencer the group remained for an evening of swimming and television.

Stilwell Group Attends Reunion A re-union of the Towry family was held at Creekmore Park in Fort Smith, Sunday, June 29. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Sebastian and Mr. and Mrs.

Leroy Towry and daughters, Nikki Lea and Donna Jo, attended from Stilwell. Other members of the family attended from Van Buren, Heavener, Tahlequah, Poteau, Barling, Paris, Wewoka, Hot Springs, Scranton, Clarksville, and Fort Smith, Ark. Approximately 75 persons attended. Miss Lucy Mae Scott of Tulsa spent the week-end in Stilwell visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Martin Scott and family of the Fairfield community. Mr. and Mrs. Dillard Stiensiek and son, Kenneth of Cincinnati, Ohio, visited this week with Miss Stiensiek's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Labe Ford, and her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Ford and family, Mr. Stiensiek's brother, Mr. and Mrs.

Reeves Steinsick and J. R. Kenneth Steinsiek is a ventriloquist. Mr. and Mrs.

Red Kelly of Aneheim, visited Mrs. Kelly's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. S. L.

Casteel and Mr. and Mrs. Reeves Steinsiek and other relatives and friends. Miss Reba Nell Turner of Oklahoma City, spent the weekend visiting in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Earl. Turnet, Barbara Ann. Bonnie Lou and Bobbie Jean of the Chalk Bluff community. Mr. and Mrs.

Orville Davidson of Dodge City, Kansas, spent Wednesday night with Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hunter of Pilgrim Rest. Mrs. Charlie Hunter attended the funeral of Mr.

Jim Davidson at Tahlequah Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Billy James Batefan and daughter Pamela, and Mr. and Mrs.

Reeves Steinsiek and son, J. spent Sunday afternoon at Fort Smith and Van Buren, Arkansas. Mrs. Anna Corley returned home from Fort Worth, Texas last Tuesday where she has been visiting her son, Richard Corley and family. Mr.

and Mrs. E. R. Pugh of Huntington Park, spent last week-end visiting with Mr. Pugh's sister, Mrs.

Lela Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. H. L.

Goodwin of Sapulpa visited last weekend in Stilwell with Mr. Goodwin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A.

Inabell Mogg has returned from: a two-week vacation which she spent visiting her son, Greer Mogg in, Gordon, Nebraska, and in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she attended the wedding of her at the First Baptist Church in son, Joe to Miss a Ramona Gupton; Salt Lake City, Greer Mogg attended his brother as best man. On her return trip Mrs. Mogg visited her brother and sisterin-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Greer of St.

Joseph, Missouri. Family Reunion Held in Honor of Lieutenant Nolan A family reunion was held Sunday, July 6, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Owens, honoring the return of Mrs. Owen's son, Lieutenant Emmitt D.

Nolan from Korea, where he has been serving with the 45th Division. Seven of his ten brothers and sisters were there. Dinner was served at noon under the lawn trees and the afternoon was spent visiting and taking pictures. Those who attended were Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Nolan and five children of Ponca City; Mr. and Mrs. Edd Fink and son. Mr. and Mrs.

Paul Perryman and two sons all of Tulsa; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Goss and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davidson and two daughters, Mr.

and Mrs. Fate Nolan and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Nolan and four children, Mrs. Bill Wisely and three children all of Stiwell; Lieutenant and Mrs.

Emmitt D. Nolan and two children of Tahlequah, the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. George Owens. Lieutenant Nolan will go to Camp Chaffee, this week 1 for his discharge and will attend Oklahoma University at Norman this fall for work on his masters degree.

Brothers and sisters who were unable to attend were Linzey Nolan of Gypsum, Colorado; gene Nolan of Englewood, Colorado; Mrs. Reba Diss of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Edith Padgett of Smithville, Oklahoma. Sammy Anderson of Tulsa spent the week-end in Stilwell visiting in the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.

Jeff Carson of the Chalk Bluff community. Mrs. John Mitchell and children of Tulsa are spending two weeks visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cy Curtiss of Stilwell.

Mr. Mitchell plans to join his wife in two weeks for a few days visit. Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Evans and daughter, Carolyn Jo, Mr.

and Mrs. Ray Evans visited during the Fourth of July holidays with Mrs. Carrol Evans' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parsons.

Mrs. Lizzie Keith and Mrs. Jennie Johnson and daughter, Jeanie, left Sunday for Great Falls, Montana, for a twoweek visit with Mrs. Keith's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs.

Watkins attended their annual Fourth of July family reunion held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harve Watkins of Van Buren, Ark. Those who attended were Mrs. Nancy Waters and daughter, Essie, of Kansas City; Mrs.

Nettie Scraper, Mrs. Lizzie Lynn, Mr. and Mrs. John Watkins and family, Mr. and Mrs.

James Watkins and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Watkins and family all of Van Buren; Mr. and Mrs. C.

L. Watkins and Mrs. Watkins' children, Mr. and Mrs. 0.

T. Mabray of Texarkana; Mr. and Mrs. H. H.

Mr. and Mrs. Amos Coombes and daughter, Caren Sue of Commerce, Oklahoma, spent the week-end with Mrs. Coombes parents, Mr. and Mrs.

G. H. Jefferson of East Peavine. Mr. and Mrs.

Coombes' children, Bobby and Edith Ann, who have been visiting their grandparents for the last three weeks. returned to Commerce with them. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crews and son, Darryl Lee, of Pawhuska, visited over the holidays with Mrs.

Crews parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parsons of Stilwell. Sergeant First Class Donald Lee Jefferson, who is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, spent the -end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.

G. H. Jefferson of East Peavine. Mr. and Mrs.

Jefferson also had as their guest over the week-end Corporal James Crane, who is stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. Both Jefferson and Crane have orders for overseas duty. Mr. and Mrs. Ardell Gillum of Tulsa Tuesday night with Mrs.

Gillum's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ketcher and family of Stilwell. Mr. and Mrs.

Gillum's two children, Beverley Jean and Jerry Wayne, who have been spending the last three weeks with their grandparents, returned to Tulsa with Mr. and Mrs. Gillum Wednesday ing. Mr. and Mrs.

Bill White and children of Odessa, Texas, who have been visiting Mrs. White's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Prock, returned to Odessa this week. Mrs.

C. Cantrell of Stilwell, returned home Sunday evening from McAlester where she has been visiting the last six weeks with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cantrell and family. MISS BRASHEAR VISITS PARENTS Miss Betty Ruth Brashear, who is attending Draughon's Business College in Muskogee, visited over the week-end with her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Virgil Brashear of Stilwell. ONE DIVORCE THIS WEEK According to G. R. Dannenberg, court clerk, one divorce was issued this week.

J. C. Paden obtained a divorce from Minnie Paden on July 5. PARKER VISITS HERE A-B John Dewey Parker, who is stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base, Amarillo, Texas, spent the week-end in Stilwell visiting with his mother, Mrs. Mary Parker.

Santa Fe to Give 4-H Club Awards Fifteen Oklahoma boys or girls with a top ranking 4-H record will each receive a 1952 National 4-H Club Congress award equivalent to $150 provided by the Santa Fe Railway System. In addition, the railway is providing two college scholarships of $250 each in Oklahoma, one for a 4-H boy and one for a 4-H girl selected from the Santa Fe, winners who will attend the 'Club Congress in Chicago next November. To be eligible for these awards, participants must have passed their fourteenth birthday and must not have passed their twenty-first birthday, on JanuLary 1, 1952. They also must have completed at least three years of 4-H Club work including the current year. This program is conducted under the direction of the Cooperative Extension Service.
