On Monday night, the 11th ult. about 8 as Mr. H. Hamilton, (brother of the late Dr. H.

of Ballinshinch), was going from his houfe to that of his brother, (ituated about three miles from Ballinahinch, on the Rathfrilaad road, he was waylaid by a party of men, who beat him in fuch a manner that he died the following morning. This horrid tranfaftion originated in that unfortunate party-fpirit of late in the vicinity of Nruiry Telegraph. Acircumftance of an interefting nature has recently taken place ia connexion with the proceedings of the London Society for promoting Chriftianity among the Jews. A voluntary aUbciatisn of nearly 50 Jews who have embraced Chriftianity, haa been formed among themfelves, in order to raife a fund for the dillrlbution of biblcs and Chriftian trafts among their unbelieving brethren, and to afferoble dated I for prayer, snd mutual counfel as to the heft means by them to be purfued for the bringing of their benighted kinfmen to the knowledge of the true Meffiah, The Cormth Miners are to be employed on the projeflcd fortification on Hilfea Green. Boulden Thompfon, accompanied by Mr. Rennie, Mr. Hall, have been for the laft week engaged in a furvey of the new Royal Dock-yard in Millord-haven and they are fo highly pleafed with the fituation, that they rtrongly recommend it, not only as a buildingyard, but as grand naval arfenal. Two men, named Samuel Phippard and James Summers, while working in one of the ftoue-quarries at Swanage, Dorfet, were on Wednefday fudJenly (urprifed by a fall of immenfe blocks of liooe. A boy, who went to call them at the hour of dinner, gave an alarm to the neighbours, who found Phippard dead, with hit head and one hand jammed between pillar of the quarry and a huge block of ftone that had fallen from the ceiling.
