Ladies' Aid The Ladies' Aid of the First church will meet with Dick Bonham, 15th St So, on Wednesday, June 9th Everybody welcome OBITUARY LOWELL JLMOR MEYERS Lowell Junior Mevers the infant son of Mr and Mrs Ravmond Meyers of Dovre died last Sunday The funeral was held today and interment made at the Mamrelund church cemetery MYRON ELKJER The little baby son of Mr and Mrs Erick Elkjer was taken away by death's angel last Sunday, May 30 The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 3 clock from the house at 803 4th St Little Mj ron Elkjer was born Jan 31 this ear and had attained the age of four months He leaves two brothers and a sister MRS ERICKSON Mrs Erickson, daughter of Mrs Christine Soderling, died at her home at Sacramento Calif, Monday at 2 after one week illness with appendicitis Mrs Agnes Soderling-Enckson was born in Sweden, Sept 21, 1881 She came here with her parents when six ears old She attended the Willmar schools and was married to Erickson April 9 1904 They resided at Seattle Wash for some time and then moved to Sacramento where Mr Erickson is a builder and contractor Mrs Erickson was at Willmar for an extended visit with her folks last summer The obsequies takes place at Sacramento The deceased is mourned by the mother, a brother, William and a sister, Mrs Av Buckley, of Willmar, and a brother Russell of Breckenridge and other relatives This is the fourth death in the family withm twenty months The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all in their sorrow Recommended for Scholarship Miss Geraldine daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip Haley who has just completed her Junior ear at the College of St Catherine, St Paul was recommended bv the Dean of the College to compete for the French scholarship offered by the University of Paris France, for the ear 1921-22 This scholarship is offered to five other Colleges all over the country and it is to be hoped Miss Haley and the College St Catheime wins this magnificent offer Pearl Newberger arrived Monday from Alexandria for a stay at her home 0 0 BOWERY DANCE At Elmer Anderson's, Two Miles Southwest of Willmar. RBUN SOLDIERS OF THREE WARS IN PARADE Memorial Day Exercises at Willmar Include Parade, Music and Speeches Memorial Day was celebrated at Willmar by a parade at two o'clock Monday, of the veterans of three wars First came the Willmar Band Then the surviving members of the Col Heg Post A in their handsome uniforms Next, quite a number of the members of the Roosevelt Post of the United Spanish-American War veterans in their uniforms of blue and gray Lastly came the boys in khaki, veterans of the recent World War, headed by members of the Austin Hanscom Post of the American Legion, carrying their beautiful banner.

Only about half of the World War veterans in line were in uniform The line of march was along Becker to Third. Third to Pacific, Pacific to Fifth, and Fifth street back to the court house jard The Willmar Band played patriotic selections Gov A Rice introduced Atty Stanford as the speaker of the aav Mr Stanford's address was enlogistic of the veterans before him of the three wars, and he recited extracts from "The Blue and the "The Bivuoac of the Dead" and In Tlanders Fields' The exercises closed with a band concert The Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion served a lunch in the Masonic building during the afternoon and were well patronized The arrangements for the exercites were made by the American Legion boys In the morning details from the soldier organization, visited the various cemeteries and decorated the graves of their comrades The State Park Dedication The date for the dedication of Sibley State Park was fixed for Saturday, June 26 The exercises will be held on Cedar Hill near the shore of Lake Andrew Good progress is being made on the roads thru the Park and it is expected that they will be passable by that date The committee on program consists of Senator A Gandrud, Hon John Wick, lund and County Chairman Nels Johnson A number of other committees on arrangements have been named A Swedish Comedy There is an opportunity to secure the presentation of the Swedish play "Karlek och Upptag," by the Swedish Literary Society of the University students at Willmar week after next It made a great hit at the Farm School auditorium when presented there, the players are a fine lot and act cleverly Some Swedish folk dances are a part of the program Two Commissioner Contests There will be two contests this fall for County Commissioners the county In the First District, Tobias Rasmusson has filed against Johnson, the present incumbent In the Fifth two gentlemen from Holland will contest for the honor, De Vries and Albert Boersma In the Third District no opposition candidate filed against Nels Johnson Messrs Rasmuson and De Vries are endorsed by the Nonpartisan organizations and requested to file by them I.
