vV.H. Throne and Judge E. W. Kiench left on this morning's stage en route to Tucson, to attend the grand lodge of Odd Fellows, which convenes there next Monday. Superintendent Jones, of tho Prescott fc Arizona Central railroad, drew his check yesterday for $1,585, in payment of tho car load of cattle roasted in transit on Wednesday night.

Superintendent Dodge telegraphed that a courier had arrived at Winslow from Sheriff O'Neill, reporting himself and posse all safe. They were at Leo's Ferry on Friday, March 29th. W. M. Clay pool has lately made some important improvements to the assay office of the sampling works, and can now boost of as complete and neat an outfit as can be found in the Southwest.

Special Land Agent Slater, of Tucson, has been removed from office. A petition has betn in circulation in Prescott for the last few days asking to have Grovcr Cleveland's special emmissary, Col Sidney B. Bevaus, recalled also. Geo. H.

Tinker, of the Flagstaff Champion, is at Lus Vegas springs, Xew Mexico, recuperating his health, and John G. Tinker is in charge of the paper, and publishing a newsy sheet. 'Johnny" is "old reliable" himself, in any poMtion you may place him. E. Wilcox telegraphed to Piescott this morning that he had returned fiom the pursuit of Uio train roblters all pound and well.

We are glad to learn that the report of his death proved to be unfounded, He left the sb. -riff's posse at Lee's Ferry ou Friday last. Tom Davis, the irrepressible clothing man, failed to arrive last night, as ho expected, but in a note received at this office says ho will be in Sunday night with a fine lino of summer goods, and tho largest assortment ever brought to tho town. As he will only remain for a brief period, parties desiring to give him au order should make it a point to call early. A Driving Park and Fair Grounds.

Articles of incorporation were drawn up to-day and will at onco be filed to incorporate The FUgstaff Biding and Driving Park Association. Its incorporators aro Ralph H. Cameron, Ja nes M. Simpson, Frank E. Foster, George Prime and James A.

Vail. The capital stock will be $2,000, with privilege of increasing stock. 200 shares will bo issued at once at $10 per share. We aro informed that over two-thirds of the stock is now taken. The grounds will bo alout one and one-half miles east of town, and is provided with good stables for horses and cattle, the object of the association being to hold fairs, as well as eu ourage sport; this will bo a grand step toward placing Flagstaff ahead of any other town in Arizona in popularity.

The robbers were evidently for the latter place, as the telegram states that tho upturn Wsts nuido a few miles east of Beaver. Tho robbery waa committed on the uichtof MarcJi 20th. Sheriff O'Neill received word 'of it on tho afternoon of March 21st, aud left for Uio scene of tho robbery on tho morning of the 22d. On his arrival thoro ho immediately took tho trail, and at ono tnnowas within six hours of Uio robbers, but his horses giving out they gained on him, and ho crossed Lee Jerry, into Utah, two days behind them. The officers have covered a distance of over tiOO miles in their pursuit.

We are glad to noto tho investment of this great copper concern in this conn ty, and it will probably lead to the de velopment of other copiwr mines here, Uie shipment of ore to Prescott is a now experiment to smelting men, and it may lead to results tint will prove of great heneht to tho mining interests of tho territory, and to Mr. Fred E. Sattes' Sucker mine arrived at the sampling works yesterday.

It is very high grade lead ore. Hanson Geo. Olsen, Frank Miller, E. C. Clark, and Smith fc Hal loway have each made shipments of ore to the sampling works this week.
