E. Ross Re-elected as President of Society for 1925 Reports of Various Activities During Year Were Most Satisfactory The annual meeting of the King-ton Red Croes Society wae held yesterday afternoon in the Y.W.CA, I Johnson street, and a very fair at-tendanca of membera was present. The president, Mrs. A. EL Rosa, preaided and after the opening ceremony called for the reports tram the various convenors and from the secretary and treasurer.

Miss Wlnnlfred Burns, treasurer of the Red Cross Society, acted as secretary during the paat year and her report of the activities of the society during the paat year was most encouraging. Peace time activities were limited in many ways but when the Mowat Banltorlum was opened to civilian patients no discrimination was made and a large amount of help and financial assistance had been given to the civilian patients as well. An eloquent tribute was paid to the work of the Visiting Committee who during the year called os the Mowat Banltorlum, Kingston General Hospital, and Hotel Dleu patients, In March, clothing anhh as dressing gowns and pyjamas were made and distributed, and In May, the secretary' report pointed out, envelopes were sent onl asking for rapport and through this attempt a considerable amount waa realised. The distribution of Christmas boxes to soldiers and their families and to the local hospitals waa successfully carried out this year, 1500 being pent in this department. Treasurer's Report The treasurers report retd by Miss Wlnnlfred Burns was.

one of the best financial statements in many years. balance of 1968.29 was left over the expenses of the year. This balance is considered to be most satisfactory, and la greater than the balance of the Society last year when a balance of 8941.89 appeared on the hooka. Annual memberships for last year amounted to $895.00 while a total of $1500.00 waa received from Toronto headquarters In the form of grant The total receipts for the year amounted to $2840.64, The total disbursements during 1924 amounted to $1872.25, $800.00 being spent by the Visiting Committee in their weekly calls at the various hospitals In the city. In addition to that amount $124.88 was pent for magaslnea books and clothing for patlenta at tha Mowat Hospital.

$500 waa spent In buying handsome Christmas boxes which ware distributed to the needy. total of 180 boxes were passed ont Miss Isabel Boas made tha report for the Visiting Committee who during the season carried ont much work. The Provincial Committee for supplying soldiers comforts -to D.S.CJL hospitals stopped when the Mowat Hospital transferred hands and the lose for a time la sad. The Red Cross had during tha past year filled this lack to the great appreciation of the patlenta Miss Hpss expressed the thanks of the Society to tha kind citizens who had given over their can to the entertainment of the patlenta who were taken out for a ear ride through the country. The speaker also thanked the manager of the Capitol Tbeatrs and tha Strand Theatre for tbs matinee passes given to the lnvallda Mention was mada of the special thoughtfulness of Mr.

J. M. Camp-beH who gave tha patients of Mowat an excuralon to Brophy'a Point this summer on tha steamer Brockvllle where a picnic waa bald. Assistance of this kind did much to relieve the monotony of hospital Ufa Mlia Laura T. Nelah presented the report of the committee appointed to visit Immigrants arriving In tha city.

During the year nine came to the attention of the Society and even of these were called upon. A vote of thanks waa passed by the meeting to the secretary and treasurer, who during the past year had dona everything In her poorer for the advancement of the Red Cross work. Election of Officer The lost business dealt with at the annual meeting of the society was tha election of officers for 1925. The President, Mra A.
