They are the sons of two of the greatest who ever wore the uniform of the St. Louis Browns. The greats are George Sisler, first base- -jg Fifth of a Series man, and Dr.

H. S. Pruett, who as pitcher Hub Pruett was. the man who had an Indian sign on Babe Ruth. He struck him out 18 times in a row.

The sons are David M. Sisler, IS, and H. S. Pruett, who is called Shelby. 'They play for John Burroughs School, aiid they are taking a large part in its first championship stride in many years.

They played football last year. Dave sparked the basketball team to the state championship semi-finals, and Shelby led the soccer team to conference title. Both are with the baseball team this spring. Young" Sisler is a pitcher and a senior, Shelby a junior. The school's director athletics, Ray Wolfe, say the boys "definitely are for our fine record in athletics." The fathers were mates on the great Brownie team of 1922, which made a strong -bid for the pennant but lost out to the Yankees.

Hub had the distinction of strik- Father rownie Stars Shine Ih Sp3rls ing out Babe Ruth 18 times in a row that year. went on to.his .420 batting average that year, tying the American League record Ty in 1911. placed with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Phils and Boston Bfeves, but neither he nor Sisler matched the 1922 performance in later years. Sisler was troubled with a sinus infection and Hub's ftrm became lame. Sisler' now is chief scont for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pruett is a practicing M.I*, in North St.

Louis. Another. Sisler boy, Dick, 28, still hopes to make a name for himself in the National League. After two seasons as first baseman-outfielder for the' St. Louis Cardinals, Dick has been with the Phillies since a year ago April and has been in organized baseball since 1939.

Like his dad, young Sisler hits a long ball, when he connects. He hit 11 homers' last year. His dad never played in a World Series, but Dick did in 1946. Medicine was Pruett's goal, even in 1922. He attended medical schools in several parts of the country while playing baseball to pay his way.

He left baseball for the last time in 1931 to become an interne at St. John's Hospital here.
