He is now pastor of the Mountain View Baptist Church in the Green River Baptist Association in North Carolina. Eastwood (Continued from page 1) ceding you, has real problems that must be met. Just now we are terrifically concerned over the impending conflict between the two great ideologies of Communism, and the Western concept of real democracy. Your future and that of your children already mortgaged through there piling up of local, state and national debts. We must have a tremendous increase in national productivity or continual inflation is with us for your life time and maybe longer.

Improvements in transportation and communications are doing away with the small community concept, and replacing such with neighborly concepts of ever a widening radius. With the world becoming increasingly smaller your generation will be called upon to adjust, adjust again and to keep on adjusting. You will find it necessary to call as neighbor, people whose language you cannot now speak, and whose culture is completely alien to you." After describing the importance for relay teams for passing the baton properly from runner to runner, Dr. Eastwood said: "The years spent in receiving a formal education are rather similar to moment spent in passing the baton by the runners in a relay race, and just as important. Man is different from other creatures made and ordained by God, primarily in that the offspring of man can and may learn all the accumulated knowledge of man of preceding generations.

This accumulated knowledge we call our cultural heritage, and is passed on to you through the formal learning process; at least it is available for you. How much you get depends largely upon seriousness of purpose shown by the individual student." Three important factors in the educational process were named by Dr. Eastwood. The first was acquisition of knowledge. The second was application of knowledge to the thinking process.

And the third was development of the spiritual area. Church (Continued from page 1) church. The group of 122 people with their church letters in hand and six under the watchcare of the group was called into a business meeting with Mr. Alexander as temporary chairman. The Rev.

All of these officers were elected by unanimous vote of the group. The constitution and were then adopted by unanimous vote of the congregation. A' budget was presented and adopted by a unanimous vote. Another hymn was sung after which a special offering was received for the new church. A rising vote of thanks was given to Grady Blackwell for the use of his building as a meeting place until a building can be erected.

The church also gave Mrs. Hayes a rising vote of thanks for her do nation of a plot of land on which to erect the new church. A vote of thanks also went to the West End and Macedonia churches for the use of hymn books. Mr. Alexander then brought a to the church after which message the congregation sang "Blest the Be The Tie, and Mrs.
