The Shrine, as a leader of child therapy in orthopedics, also contributes to medical science through the three burn in-stititues. Thousands of children are actually or potentially crippled by burns each year.

Many of these children are treated (at no cost) in one of the Shrine burn institutes located in Boston, Cincinnati or Galveston. Tickets are $6 grandstand and $7 pit pass. Children, ages 7-12, will be admitted for $1. Children 6-and-under accompanied by a parent will be admitted free. Cherokee Speedway is located northeast of Gaffney off Interstate 85, near the S.C.

18 interchange. While most bandits logically try to stay out of trouble, there's one bandit that will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people during 1983. It's the "Skoal and it's not the kind that robs bands. It's the gleaming 1982 Buick Regal stock car, a replica of the model which competes on the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit. The Buick is identical to the one driver Harry Gant, who won at Darlington recently, is campaigning on the Winston circuit this year.

The green and white No. 33 Regal, owned by Hal Needham and actor Burt Reynolds, is NASCAR legal, equipped with a 358 cubic engine capable of 600 horsepower. Racing fans will have ample opportunity to see the "Bandit," along with the Skoal Bandettes, at the third annual Cherokee Shrine 100 June 14, 8:30 p.m., at Cherokee Speedway. A skydiving exhibition will opjen the festivities at 8. Race chairman Drayton Queen said that a purse of $10,160 will be paid for the meet, which "includes sportsman, cadet and street divisions.
