Lunde Carbondale On Wednesday, Nov. 22, Miss Shirley Dollins of Benton became the bride of George Edwin Lunde, of Carbondale at the First Baptist church in Benton. Dr. Paul Hunsinger performed the 8 o'clock ceremony in front of an altar decorated with baskets of white mums, fern, and candelabra bearing burning tapers. Miss Dollins, who is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Kirk Dollins of Benton, wore a light blue suit with lime accessories. Her corsage was of white roses. Her only attendant was Miss Sue Ewing, who wore a beige suit with brown accessories, and a corsage of yellow roses. Warren G.

Lunde of Springfield was his brother's best man. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. G. E.

Lunde, 50S West Sycamore street, Carbondale. James Trigg of Tamaroa was usher. Preceding the ceremony. Miss Judy Gurley, sorority sister of the bride, sang the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sweetheart and The A Rancilio-Hays Nuptials at Herrin Church Mr. and Mrs.

John Hays, West Frankfort, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Delia Evelyn, to Mario A. Rancilio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rancilio of Herrin. The ceremony was performed at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in Our Lady of Mt.

Carmel church, Herrin, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Robert DeGasperi officiating. The bride wore a light blue gabardine suit with brown accessories, mink stole and carried a bouquet of lavender mums centered with two large orchids.

Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Rancilio, brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom, were the couple's attendants. Mrs. Rancilio wore a light brown suit with brown accessories and an orchid corsage.

Mrs. Hays, mother of the bride, chose a dark green suit with tan accessories. Mrs. Rancilio wore black crepe. Yellow tea roses fashioned the mothers corsages.

A wredding breakfast-reception was held at the Hays home in West Frankfort following the ceremony. A three-tiered wedding cake centered the buffet table at which Mrs. Ruth Barney and Miss Doris Hays, sisters of the bride, and Mrs. Geneva Harrelson presided. Only members of the two immediate' families were present for the ceremony and breakfast, including Mr.

and Mrs. Joe Rancilio, Mr. and Mrs. James Rancilio and daughter, Karla Jo, of Herrin, Mr. and Mrs.

Louie Rancilio of Carmi and Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Rancilio of St. Louis. The bride is a graduate of West Frankfort Community high school and attended Southern Illinois university at Carbondale for three years.

She is employed in the Franklin County Department of Welfare office in Benton. Mr. Rancilio attended Herrin schools and is employed at Old Ben Mine No. 15 in West Frankfort. Mr.

and Mrs. Rancilio are residing at 1411 East Popular street, West Frankfort. HERRIN VISITORS RETURN TO PENNSYLVANIA Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hopkins, 213 South Eighth street, Herrin, entertained with a dinner Thursday.

Their guests were Mrs. Hopkin's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Basinger of Youngs-town, and their son, "Chuck" Basinger who attends the University of Illinois. Other guests were Mr.

and Mrs. Hopkins' son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hopkins and Mr. Hopkins' sister, Mrs.

The Rimbolds have returned to Murphys boro to make their home with his brother since his mother's death. They resided in Michigan for 29 years. MRS. WET LAND SPENDS HOLIDAY IN MURPHYSBORO Mrs. Walter Swetland and two sons, Ronnie and Walter, have returned to their home in Chicago after spending the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Winfred 1935 Wall street, Murphysboro. Wiggins Couple, Herrin, Return From Texas Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Wiggins, 413 West Herrin street, Herrin, returned to their home Tuesday night from San Antonio, Texas, where they spent Thanksgiving week with their son-in-law and daughter, Lieut, and Mrs.

R. L. McGin-nis and grandsons, Mac and Pat. They also visited places of interest in Mexico. The Wigginses said their return home was pleasant and that they did not run into bad weather.

FORMER HERRIN GIRLS MAROONED AT MATTOON Miss Sarah Tapella and Miss Carol Kinsley of Joliet have re turned to their employment in Joliet after spending the holiday vacation in Herrin with Miss Tap- ella's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tapella, 400 North Twenty-first street, and Miss Kinsley's grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amel Pes- sina, 30S North Seventeenth street.

and Mrs. Harry Calcaterra, 205 North Twelfth street. to attend the wedding of her sister, Donna, which will take place Thursday morning. Herrin Club Meets at Marion Mrs. Elsie Lay of Marion was hostess Tuesday night to mem bers of the Herrin Past Matrons club of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mrs.

Lay is a past matron of the Herrin order. Fifteen members answered roll call with "what I am thankful for." Plans were made for the Christmas meeting which will be held December 22 at the home of Mrs. Delores Foster, 612 South Park avenue, Herrin. Names were drawn for a gift exchange. Mrs.

Pfc. Jim Glore Spends Leave In Herrin Pfc. Jim Glore spent the holiday weekend on leave with his wife. Dorothy, and daughter, Margaret Ann, at their home, S01 South Six teenth street, Herrin. Glore is stationed at Camp Mc Coy, in the field artillery.

Mrs. Will Griffith will explain the Illinois State Federation contest on literature and art. MRS. FLYNN HONORED AT DINNER TUESDAY Mrs. Harry Flynn, 403 West Elm street, Carbondale, was guest of honor at a surprise dinner held at Tom's Place Tuesday night.

Hostesses were Mrs. Russell Taylor and Misses Elma and Barbara Densch. Mrs. Flynn was presented with a gift by the 27 guests present. The floral centerpiece was donated by Irene.

Afton McCain of Anna was an out of town guest. Mr. and Mrs. Flynn will leave Jan. 1, for Effingham, 111., where they will make their home.

MRS. BARROW HOSTESS TO GARDEN CLUB The Carbondale Garden club met Tuesday afternoon in the home of Mrs. J. W. Barrow, 605 West Elm street.

Miss Mae Dorsey presided.
