Seawater for Cities' Question to Minister Mr. Grimond. the Liberal leader. has taken up the idea of distilling seawater for ordinary uses. In a question to the Minister for Science he asks: What investigations have been or are being made into the distillation of seawater for industrial and domestic purposes in this country? It is expected that the question w4ll be answered next Tuesday.

Already in Guernsey. there Is a plant capable of distilling up to 500.000 gallons of seawater a day for these purposes. Lord Blrkett, in his last speech in the House of Lords on Thursday on Manchester Corporation's Ullswater Bill, said that more consideration should be given to this idea.
