Draw-Cut vs.

Posh-liar. This case was decided in favor of the plaintiff by a careful reviewal of the claims of both parties and the result of tbe verdict was that Mr. Edward F. Welles of Stevens-ville this season purchased a six-foot draw-cut mower of the Towanda azency at 203 Main street, instead of a McCormick mower with its puBh bar. The facts iu the case are that Mr.

Welles, who is a very enterprising farmer, two seasons ago was doing bis haying with an old Champion mower that got out of order and he got a new Champion on trial and purchased it. lie has a 500 acre farm and ceuded two mowers, and thought if he could find anything better than t'-e Champion he would purchase it this season, but upou carefully looking over the Buckey, McCormick and others he found that in all refpscts the Champion was (qual or superior to the others and that the draw cut principal of the Champion not only keeps it from clogging where other machines would clog but that it makes an easier machine on the team, har ness and driver, lw I had rather hive Dr Kat'r Lnnc Palm sad Dr Kay'n Renovator fir ippa ihao pll tbe Doctors pat togtiuer," rue Mr Jkmf HOMell, Sarntoi.0 Y. An Old Timer Snake stories being in order the following is vouched for by the writer, a gentlemen of unquestionable integrity About the year 1859 a very large deer had been seen on the Lamoka mountains and several times shot at by ex perienced riflemen, but in every instance the auimal escaped. 4 Uaclo Nate, Benjamin and William Norlhrnp and the' writer the first day of the week to see if we could not capture Gliding, for that waB the name we had given the deer. We bunted until about nwn but saw no signs of Goldi g. We all met at a point well known to ns when the dogs found a rattle snake. We all started, guns in hand, for the reptile.

Uncle Nate got in position first and fired, killing the snake, which measured 25 feet and 5 inobes. It had 96 rattles, measar' ing 26 inches. Uncle Nate suggested that we would get a nice lot of oil and proceeded with bis knife to cut open the reptile. To our what do you think we found iu the snake? It was tbe carras3 of Goluing with horns 2 feet wide. Ihe snake fur nished us about a barrel of oil.
