morning newscasts in a race to reach growing local audiences seeking the latest headlines before dashing out the dooc Beginning on Labor Day the Morning will add an hour of local news by starting an hour earlier at 7 am said Steve Hunsicker executive news director for WPEC News 12 and WFLX Channel 29 show has been doing really well so we are going to expand it to two panded coverage begins For an undisclosed fee WPEC produces the local news for WFLX in the WPEC news studios It seems lots of morning news options are coming on line for viewers of the major affiliates based in Palm Beach County Last month WPBF News 25 announced that in July it will add 30 minutes of local news to the morning line-up Monday through Friday beginning at 5:30 am WPBF News Director Joseph Coscia said the station is responding to a appetite for morning WPTV NewsChannel 5 started the local trend in February when it expanded morning weekend coverage offering on newscasts on Saturday and Sunday between 6 am and 8
