Crawford Clarke) at the Shrewsbury inquest last night on Mrs. Edith Mary Harper (33) and three of her five daughters, Norma (9), Christine Anne (7), and Patricia Joan (3), victims of a fire at their home, 125, Copthorne road, Shrewsbury, on 29 April. For the past eight years Birmingham has used wireless in fire-fighting, but the 14 mobile stations have always been installed in cars, and not on firefighting appliances.

The new scheme doubles the number of mobile stations and enables each station to have wireless facilities on it's fire appliances.
