Is there a dye suitable for Mrs NC GIRLS My a hats always survived the summer without freezing them Sounds to me as if the glue used on the hat was causing the trouble If such a hat is not wearable nothing Is lost by experimenting a hit I know of no dye specifically for feathers but I tried hrushbig ordinary dress dye on some feathers with a toothbrush The center did not take the dye but the feathers came out very well In fact should there be a variation of color in the different feathers the effect would he very nice I think All sorts of shading could be worked out using different colors if one so desired Brush only the feathers with the dye and do not wet the glue that attaches them to the hat Pull out a feather or two and experiment first before tackling the enUre hat POLLY DEAR POLLY Put the leftovers from balls of knit-ing wool in glass Jars and store in the cellar This method keeps the moths out and you can see at a glance the colors on hand DEAR POLLY I have a hint for teen-agers Store your beauty paraphernalia in a large tote basket I use an old Easter basket You can carry it with you to the bathroom and then take it right back to your dressing table Other members of the family are not annoyed by clutter in the bathroom and all your things will be together in one place TEEN-AGER GIRLS I am sure many of you mothers will want to pass this hint on to your girls The entire family should certainly give her a round of applause POLLY DEAR POLLY When I order any fountain drinks for my children at a drive-in restaurant I ask them to cap the containers as if the drinks were to be taken out I leave the cap on the drink and with a pencil (or anything in my purse) punch a hole in each cap just right for a straw to fit in Even by tilting the drinks way over they do not spilL 1 have completely done away with any spills by using this method MG Share your favorite homemaking ideas send them to Polly in care of The Albuquerque Tribune receive a bright new silver
