Monday night, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Adams, of St.

Louis, arrived in their private car "Wichita." Mr. Adams is second vice president of the Missouri Pacific lines. They returned Thurs- day. Miss Marie Kettenbaugh, of Lewis-1 ton, Idaho, who with her father, haa been spending a few days at Sea- Kldge in Gearhart, came to Seaside I Thursday to be the house guest of Mrs. M.

Wagner and Miss Dorothea. Wagner at their beach cottage. Miss Kettenbaugh is a champion tennis player, and she and Miss Wagner will I go to the Breakers for the tennis tournament on the 20th. Mrs. W. K. Smith returned home Wednesday, after a pleasant visit with her daughter, Mrs. J.

Harker Smith. Miss Josephine went to Portland with her grandmother, and together (hey will visit Neah-kah-nie before returning to Seaside. Mrs. T. Harris Bart-lett, of Lewiston, Idaho, is a guest of the Smiths.

Mrs. J. F. Davies of Portland, is with her daughter, Mrs. Rowan and her three attractive children at the Davies cottage on Broadway.

Mrs. Ernest Webb and son, Billy, of Medford, are domiciled at the Moore Hotel for August. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Donnerberg gave a delightful card party at their picturesque home on the Wahana river.

Roses and sweet peas formed the main decorations. Those enjoying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fox of Vancouver; Mrs. Pearl Pompe of Portland, and Mr.

and Mrs. Albert Utzlnger. Delicious refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs.

D. P. Hogan of Portland, are visiting the Albers. Great preparations had been made for the entertainment of the Knights of Pythias, who arrived here August 5. There was a huge clarn bake on the beach in front of the Moore hotel, with 1000 Knights partaking of the fun.

The moment they reached here they owned the town and happiness i and good cheer reigned supreme. A charming little dancing party took place Friday afternoon at the Eungalow dance hall. Children under 16 not being allowed on the floor at night. So Manager Harry Miller, with his full orchestra, will make these a weekly event. The children are being taught by the clever little dancers, Marie and Irene Watson.

Tots three and four years old were dancing about like fairies, and little gentlemen gallantly escorted their youthful partners to their seats. Among the merry dancers were Paul Jackson, Josephine Grlbler, Billy Gribler, Tannette. Stanley and Faye Jaloff, Frances Roth, Nellie Black, Joe Hoopes, Cecil Reader, Katherine Graef, Margaret Niday, Frederick and James Stilwell, Laura Schwartz, Cecilia Schwartz. Carl Rogers. Agatha Brandes, Kathleen Niday and Richard Graef.

They were chaperoned by their mothers. Mrs. B. Simmons and family are down from Portland to enjoy the beach life. Mr.

and Mrs. Tom Word, Miss Leona Hansen, Mrs. Getz, William Patterson, Harley Stevens, and Mrs. W. H.

Patterson, had a delightful picnic down at Seaside house, the latter part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. J. C.

Jones of Portland, are In "Surprise" rottage for the remainder of the summer. The J. Harker Smiths are busy entertaining relatives and friends. Mrs. Smith fajrly radiates hospitality.

They have frequent motor picnics to Arch Cape and Hug point and surrounding country. William Reldt of Portland, is very busy bowling these days. For a four weeks record he holds the highest score of the season, making 251. Mr. and Mrs.

E. J. Blazler, with their daughter Veryl of Portland, and Miss Veryl's friend, Olga Proska and dog Prince, started out on a two days' fishing trip to the Nehalem Valley. Their auto was packed with all the. comforts to make camping out pleasant.

They are located in the Helen-Clair cottage for the summer. Samuel Galland of Seattle, Is spending his vacation with his relatives in the C. E. Smith cottage on the board walk. I Joying two weeks with his family in the Mayo cottage Mrs.

L. Sommer and Floy Sommer were guests at the I. Levy home "Ramona." Ruth Grayson left Saturday evening for her home in Portland, after a two weeks' sojourn in Seaside. Mrs. J.

Ths contln-ued good weather along the coast, despite ths showers in the valley, has helped to swell ths throng of visitors here, and has made possible a continuation of the many beach diversions which flourished last week. Salmon trolling on the high seas outside the harbor has been added to the sports here, though many prefer th less dangerous fishing to he found in the bay and along the Jetties and reefs -Many fine catches of salmon, however have been brought In, and a boat Is in attendance at all times. Allen and family have moved to the attractive Lewis cottage The fete for the Salt Cairn, which was erected by the Lewis and Clark expedition In 1805, will take place August 18 on the grounds of the Hotel Moore. The proceeds will be used for the preservation of the Cairn and to buy a suitable monument. It win be on the order of last year's fete with flowers, candy booths, fortune tellers and all sorts of amusements, with dancing in a pavilion built for the occasion. SEASIDE- Seaside, Aug. 6. The coast resort of-Seaside and Cannon Beach were Hnrt with autos last Saturday and Sunday on the occasion of the tour, sponsored by the Portland dealers. Road troubles were soon forgotten, however, on reaching Seaside, and 'Sfler a plunge In fhe ocean the visitors were ready for the festivities of the evening.
