Blackland Army Air Field Into a 51-0 defeat without haX trying here today as the Mustangs opened the football season before 6500 listless fans The weather was hot Blackland had no defense and SMU substitutes played most of the game as the Methodists balked by a fighting Blackland line in the first pe-rioid broke out with a rash of touchdowns In the second SMU was slow and easy-going In the Initial quarter apparently bothered by the excess heat but the Blackland boys outmanned and out-conditioned gave down after 10 minutes of play Those who have been saying the Mustangs have no speedy
