Persons or groups reserving park facilities will be required to put up a $5 refundable deposit for a key to the gate. The gate is locked at sundown every night and persons reserving park facilities need a key to get in and out of the park after dark.

Reservation of park facilities is being handled through the Police Department on a first-come, first-served basis. Persons planning to reserve park facilities should contact the police department in advance to be sure the desired spaces are not already reserved. The ordinance states: "It shall be a violation of this ordinance for anyone to interfere with the use of a reserved space or prevent someone from reasonably enjoying the use of a reserved space granted by the provisions of this ordinance." There is a fine of up to $200 for each violation of -the ordinance. charge applies to the entire park wnen the dances are held this Saturday and on Oct. 16, also a Saturday.

No provision for a slab reservation charge was' 'included when the ordinance was brought up for third and final reading at last week's council meeting. The $25 reservation charge was tacked on when the ordinance was approved. Dance sponsors will be required to clean up the park after the dances are over, the council said. The other fees provided for in the ordinance include: $25 a day to reserve the long table and large barbecue area at the west end entrance to the park. $5 a day for other individual tables.

$7 a day for each of the eight recreational vehicle spaces, including water and electric hookups. S3 a day for overnight campers and. recreational vehicles or tents without electric or water hookups. SI for use of dump station for recreational vehicles. Two groups wasted no time last week taking advantage of a new Gatesville ordinance that establishes fees for reserving facilities at Faunt Le Park.

The fee schedule includes $25 for reservation of the park's concrete dance slab. Thorp asked the council for permission to reserve the dance slab for a Jaycee dance Sept. 25. The request was granted. Brad Harris, Gatesville Chamber of Commerce president, asked to reserve the dance slab for a Cottonbelt depot dance benefit on Oct.

16, and the council also approved his request. City officials prefer to call the 30-by-60 slab a multi-purpose slab. "It won't be used just for dances," said City Secretary James McClothlin. "It will also be used for roller skating, volleyball and basketball," he added. Admission to the Jaycee and chamber of commerce dances in Faunt Le Roy will be paid at the entrance gate to the park, the council was told.

Construction la expected to get underway by mid-November and be completed by early 1984. When the 10,400 square-foot addition and foot remodeling of the existing bank la County Property Roll Up 117 Last time we talked about making some assignments that can lead to changes in the feelings that are down inside. Changing behaviors can lead to those changes in feelings.

It is a proven fact. So often we try to change the feelings first, hoping that the behaviors will then If you need some proof that this is true, try getting your child to like washing dishes, hoping that he or she will then want to wash the dishes. What are the chances of this working? Well, the same goes for a marriage problem. Perhaps this changing of behaviors will pot lead to some deep insight into whaj the problems are. But the procedure may change feelings and become almost self-teinforcing.

Sometimes, when people try something that they have hot done before, lo and behold, they find that they like it or that it works. People can find that changing a behavior first can be time-saving (less time spent in arguing and feeling angry) and energy-saving (less time spent in trying to figure out what to say or do when the energy could be spent in other things). People can also find that another result is a feeling of more happiness and contentment, less desire to avoid going home or being with the spouse. It is even possible, through the behavior change, to let go of some of the power in the relationship. Trying a' little give-and-take can lead to a general feeling that things are going Isn't this what most people want? IF THERE IS a power struggle every time two people argue, here's another little assignment that can be used.

Each partner takes the same number of pennies. Each time one is on the receiving end of what is perceived to be a nasty or put-down comment, he or she gives the 'aggressor' a penny. The one who gets rid of all of his or her pennies first is the winner. Since everyone wants to be the winner, the goal beepmes one of not saying anything that -could result in being given one of the pennies. Soon the couple learns to argue without having to rely on pennies.

But the arguing becomes such that nasty or put-down comments are not made. That is the beginning of a behavior change. The whole point of this discussion about trying assignments to change old patterns is simple. If the old habit or pattern can be changed, then there is room for changes in feelings that lie underneath the surface. Once the feelings do begin to change, then more behaviors will change anyway.

Only $21.6 million of the new $138 million valuations is for personal property," King said. No Noise Question is Heard Knock off the noiset That's something Councilman Gary Davis voiced concern about at last week's Gatesville City Council meeting. "There is an ordinance against using a hammer outdoors after 6 p.m.," the police chief said. "There's also another ordinance against making noise after 10 p.m.," Williams added.

Davis asked City Manager Bob Stevens to check city ordinances and have them available for discussion at the council's next meeting on Sept. 28. "It is not our intention to carry through with a sale on a person's homestead, and those particular cases will be deleted from the parcels that are sold on the above-mentioned date.
