After an introduction oi the SertaUans to the assemblage, Hon. P. Strotlier made an eloquent speech in favor of constructing a railroad from Sedalia to Marshall. In conclusion he called npon Senator Vest for information as to what could be dom- and what had been done. Sea.

Vest responded by stating what had been done thus Jar. He showed the advantages to be derived trona the building oi the Vine, as it would afford both Sedalia and Marshall competing lines. He referred to the advantages derived by the people of Saline by the building of one road, aud said that the building of another would be still more advantageous. He referred to the fact that Sedalia was determined to make a connection with the C. and preferred Marshall as the point oi intersection.
