White leads USC over Ohio St margin of victory The previous record for rushes was 34 by the late Ernie Nevers of Stanford against Notre Dame in 1925 and Vic Bottari of California against Alabama in 1938 The yardage mark was 191 by Bob Jeter of Iowa against California in 1959 White had been the mainstay for the Trojans but hadn't broken away the final drive Ohio State went into the game with an 11-0 record compared with the Trojans' 10 0-1 with a tie to Stanford marring their record and they built their margin to 10-0 on a 53-yard pass play from Paul McDonald to Kevin Williams Janakievski
