BARRY, SOCIETY. On Monday evening Miss Anna Haynes entertained in honor ot" Misses Marv Jeannetfed Bennett of Sturgis and Eugenia Stiion of Evansville, Ind. The coupes invited were a full bakers dozen and having the large lawn and beautiful home at their command, enjoyed the evening from the time they arrived untill the beautiful young hostess served dainties and delightful refreshments and the brewing storn cloud and lateness of the hour called forth the reluctant good nights and the evening passed in their memory as the happiest of their lives. Those present were: Misses Ruth Croft, Isabel Guess, Mammie Haynes, Mary Gilbert. Ada Ford, Eugenia Stinson, Hortense Calmes, Hazel Pollard.

Hammack entertained Friday evening for her daughter, Miss Clara, in honor of her visitors Misses Eugenia Stinon of Evanville, and Mary Jeanett Bennett of Sturgis About thirty guests assembled and had a jolly time until 10:30 o'clock when refreshments were served. The hostess was assisted in entertaining by Misses Jessie Croft, Maude Flanary and little Miss Ruth Haynes. Pickens and family were there with a dinner that looked like a wedding feast. Robt. F. Haynes and Prof. Sutherland were there and paired and they made a good one.

James Hicklin and family and Miss Iva Hicklen were liberal in an effort to help feed the people. T. N. Cochran, C. S.

Nunn, W. 0. Tucker contributed liberally in the way of good things to eat. Dr. Bob Franks was there as happy as a Methodist could be.

Many thanks are due Mr. Towery, the clever merchant at Hills Chapel for allowing us to water our horses at his well. Some sweet Christian woman prayed a sweet prayer during a short time devoted to sentence prayers. "She is on her way" as Bro. Bill Yates sings for us.

Jam's of Henderson will begin work on a tobacco house at Crayne in August to be ready for the present crop. Wilh'o Mar Adams was sick this week, attended by Dr. Cook. The ice cream supper at Frank Dorrah's Saturday night was well attended. Dick Cruce has just finished' putting up two hundred wagon loads of hay.

Miss Scott Paris has returned from Nashville and doing well. Geo. Travis of Piney attended church Sunday at Crayne. V. H.

Bigham had a fine horse to die last week. Mrs. Bill Shreves has been the guest at the Waddell home the past two weeks under treatment of Dr. Cook. Francis Adams is visiting her uncle, Henry Wheeler of near View.

Miss Mable Crider of Sullivan is visiting at Newt Wheeler's. Wyatt Hunt has bought a new threshing machine and gasoline engine to do his own threshing. J. L. James and family were guests of Mrs.

J. M. Deboe Saturday night. James A. Hill will soon begin work on a new house.

Misses Mar and Mary Wyatt of Fredonia, were in our section last week. Mrs. J. JM. Rushing returned home from the Nashville hospital last week much improved.

Miss Hilda Cook returned home Sunday from a several weesk visit to friends in Tenn. Jean Fuqua and wife of Nashville was the guest of relatives here.recentlv. C. A. Adams and sons Dixon and Henry, visited in Evansville last week.

The School at Crayne will not begin untill the first Monday in September, owing to the sickness of the teacher.
