Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, with visitation 6 to 8 pjn. Wednesday. Burial will be in Trex-ler Cemetery, rural Newton. Mr.

Ward was born in Christian County, son of Jess and Anna Ward. He was a retired barber, worked for the Jasper County Highway Department and was a World War II Navy veteran. He married Madge French in 1933. Surviving is his wife. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Mrs. Boerngen was born in Clay County, daughter of William and Clara Habbe. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She married Emery A.

Boerngen in 1926. He died in 1986. Surviving are her sons, Leonard of Tuscola; Lyle of Carlyle; daughter, Grace Lee of Mattoon; sisters, Laura Davis of Champaign; Elta Osborn of Effingham; seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.
