DECATUR HERALD Decatur, Illinois, Thursday, May 24, 1979 44 llinois deaths 7 Macon County, centra ters, Garnet Moore of Cowden; Leota Puckett of Decatur. Schneider Mrs. Myrtle Bone Schneider, 84, of Springfield, formerly of Greenville, died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday (May 22, 1979). in St.

John's Extended Care Center, Springfield. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation after 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery, Greenville.

She was born in Greenville, daughter of George and Mary Bone. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Mr. Pollard was born in St. Louis, son of William and Elizabeth Pollard.

He was a retired lieutenant commander of U.S. Naval Reserve, member of Salem Elks Club, Salem Moose Club and was past commander of the American Legion. He married Nancy Warner in 1943. Surviving are his wife; sons, William of Lombard; Stephen of Salem. Powell Joseph Merle Powell, 61, of Atwood, died 11:30 p.m.

Tuesday (May 22, 1979) in his home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. No visitation. Arrangements by Born Funeral Home, Atwood.

Memorials: United Church of Atwood. Mr. Powell was born in Sullivan, a son of Nelson Earl and Alta Jenne Powell. He was employed at U.S. Industrial Chemical Tuscola.

He was a member of the United Church of Atwood and the Masonic Lodge No. 825 at Arthur. He married Bernice Warfel in 1941 at Tolono. Surviving are his wife; sons, Leroy E. of Tolono; Danny of Villa Grove; mother of Arthur; brother, Duane of Lovington; sister, Mrs.

William (Catherine) Agge of Arthur; five grandchildren. Rand Rolla B. Rand, 87, of Cowden died 4:05 p.m. Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.

Saturday in Wallace and Carroll Funeral Home, Herrick, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 7 p.m. Masonic services. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Mr.

Rand was born in Cowden, son of George and Luetta Rand. A member of the Retired Federal Employees, he was a retired mail carrier and 50-year member of Cowden Masonic Lodge. He married Tarsa Belle Corley, who died in 1967. He married Evelyn Ferguson in 1975. Surviving are his wife; sons, Elwin of Chillicothe; Nelson of Cowden; stepson, Larry Ferguson of Beecher; stepdaughter, Kathy Barry of Cowden; brother, Theran of Beecher City; sis Mrs.

Jesse (Bessie) Cummings, Edith Kennedy, Barbara Jean Jones, Eunice Brummel, Shirley Jones and Mrs. Charlie T. (Juanita) Bonds, all of Decatur; half brother, Alvin of Chicago; half sister, Josephine Fitzsimons of Washington, D. 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. One brother preceded him in death.

Mauck Brian L. Mauck, 16, of 5037 Melwood Ave. died 12:08 p.m. Tuesday (May 22, 1979) in St. Mary's Hospital of injuries suffered when he was struck by a truck in the 500 Block Brush College Road.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials: Concordia Lutheran Church.

Brian was born in Decatur, son of Charles L. and Annette Smith Mauck. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a sophomore at Lake-view High School. He was a member of the church youth group and the Lake-view band. Surviving are his parents; brother, Timothy Carl, and sister, Dawn Denise, both at home; grandparents, Mr.

and Mrs. Arthur Sablotny of Decatur; Charles I. Mauck of Decatur; great-grandmother, Libby Wright of Decatur. Welch Mrs. John (Lucille Brunner) Welch, 78, of 1827 E.

Eldorado St. was found dead Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in her home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Gibson City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy.

No visitation. Mrs. Welch was born in Gibson City, daughter of George and Emma Brunner. She married Dwight N. Whetzel in 1922.

She married John L. Welch in 1978. He preceded her in death. Surviving are stepdaughters, Iona Funday and Rosine Schmidt. One sister preceded her in death.

Central Illinois Beals Oscar William Beals, 63, of Mattoon died 7:33 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County. Funeral services will be 1:03 p.m. Friday in Schilling's Funeral Home, Mattoon, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, southeast of Mattoon. Mr. Beals was born in Lerna, son of Oscar and Catherine Beals. He was a retired employee of Young's Radiator, Mattoon, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Letta Calhoun in 1952.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Macon County Crawley Michael Wayne Crawley, 14, a son of Ervon E. and Donna Marie Jones Crawley Jr. of 629 E. Grand died 8:15 a.m. Tuesday (May 22, 1979) in his home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in J.J. Moran Sons Funeral Home, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Michael was born in Decatur. He was an eighth grade student at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and a member of West Side Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his parents; brother, Gary Lee at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervon Crawley Sr.

and Eleanor Marion, all of Decatur. Jackson Mrs. Laudell (Mary Louise Spann) Jackson, 79, of 1106 S. Jackson St. died 10:03 a.m.

Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in St. Mary's Hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in J. J.

Moran Sons Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson was born in Cairo, daughter of John and Mary A.

Spann. She was a member of Trinity C.M.E. Church of Jackson, and a former employee of Norfolk Western Credit Union. She married Laudell Jackson in 1923. He died in 1977.

Surviving are daughter, Doris Louise Walker of Decatur; brother, James H. Spann of Berkeley, sisters, Les-sie B. and Gertrude Toran, both of St. Louis, Mrs. Jimmie (Sue) Johnson of Jackson, nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded her in death. Jones Lawrence "Chink" Jones, 56, of Chicago, formerly of Decatur, died 3:30 p.m. Monday (May 21, 1979) in Little Company of Mary Hospital, Evergreen Park. Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday in Charles Taylor Funeral Home, Chicago, with 7 p.m.

He was born in Cumberland County, son of Robert and Daisy Cutright. He was retired from Ettlebrick Shoe Greenup. He married Dorothy Tinsman in 1942. Surviving are his wife; son, Ricky of Rockford; daughters, Mrs. Donna Thompson of Toledo; Mrs.

Linda Wheeler of Mattoon; seven grandchildren. Fleetwood Effie Sue Fleetwood, infant daughter of Calvin and Virginia Malone Fleetwood of Paris, died 2:40 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in Paris Community Hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Edgar Cemetery, Paris.

Stewart Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, is in charge. Surviving are her parents; brother, Jim, at home; sisters, Cindy, Stephanie, Pam and Darla, all at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Malone and Mrs. Wilma Fleetwood, all of Paris.

Heitmeyer Lawrence E. Heitmeyer, 91, of Mow-eaqua died 1:35 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in Americana Health Center, Decatur. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church, Moweaqua, with visitation after 4 p.m.

Thursday at Sherwood Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials: United Methodist Church, Moweaqua. He was born in Shelby County, son of Henry and Anna Mary Heitmeyer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Moweaqua and VFW Post 99.

He was retired from Pedigo Mulligan Steel Co. Mill. He married Mary J. Burnett, who died in 1959. Surviving are brother, Vern of Decatur; sister, Rachel Heitmeyer of Moweaqua.

Holley Mrs. Martin (Hulda Landstrom) Holley, 92, of Effingham died 4:15 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.

Friday in Lower Ashgrove Church, near Strasburg, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Howe Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg. Burial will be in Lower Ashgrove Cemetery. She was born in Sweden, daughter of Frederick and Charlotte Landstrom. She married Martin Holley in 1905.

He died in 1961. Surviving are sons, Clarence and Frank, both of Effingham; daughters, Mrs. Lon (Rose) Ballinger of Effingham; Mrs. Harry (Jane) Carter of Fairfield; brother, Red Landstrom of Joliet; sister, Nancy Landstrom of Jo-liet; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. One son, two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Howard Mrs. Leo (Dorothy McKinney) Howard, 64, of Tovey died 1:15 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Friday in St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kincaid, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. She was born in Taylorville, daughter of Howard and Bertha McKinney.

She was township clerk for South Fork Township. She was a member of the Columbian Ladies, Kincaid. She married Leo Howard in 1942. He died in 1975. Surviving are her husband; brother, Harry E. Lewis of Newton. One brother preceded her in death. Knauer Walter Herman Knauer, 74, of St. Peter died 7:30 a.m.

Wednesday (May 23, 1979) in his home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hotz-Pagel Funeral Home, St.

Peter. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. He was born in rural St. Peter, son of Otto and Anna Knauer.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was a retired orderly at Lincoln Developmental Center, Lincoln. He was a former International Harvester dealer and restaurant owner in St. Peter. He married Vera Jasper in 1927.

Surviving are his wife; son, Eugene of Peoria; daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Ar-minda) Damery of Danville; Mrs. Dean (Carolyn) Mahon of Princeton; Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Kuta of Schaum-burg; brothers, William of Lincoln; Er-win of Mount Pulaski; sisters, Mrs. Elsie Gerhardt of Decatur; Adalia Remmert of Mount Pulaski; Mrs.

Palmer Wayne Harold Palmer, 17-year-old son of Harold O. and Beverly Ann Meadows Palmer of Clinton, died 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (May 22, 1979) in a boating accident at the Olympia Resort in Waukesha, Wis. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Clinton Community High School, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m.
