Another sixty-three students received the associate in arts (AA) and 169 students received the associate in applied science degree, and another 29 students received certificates of completion. Commencement ceremonies were held at the Heart O'Texas Coliseum at 8:00 p.m.

Friday, May 14. The AA degree comprises a course of study that is the freshman and sophomore years of the bachelors degree. The AAS degree is a two-year course of study that prepares a person for employment and career advancement in one of fifteen programs offered at MCC. Police said a window apparently had been pried open to unlock the vehicle.

Dolph Briscoe has proclaimed Saturday as Police Memorial Day in Texas. Briscoe ordered that Texas flags on state buildings be flown at half staff a visible tribute to these fallen Col. Wilson E. Spanish King, Quee To Visit U.S. in June WASHINGTON (UPI) King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia will visit the United States next month, the first visit to this country by a Spanish head of state. The visit, at the invitation of President Ford, was announced Friday by the Spanish Embassy. The royal couple will arrive in the United States June 1 and will stay at Blair House in Washington. The king will address a joint session of Congress June 3 and exchange state dinners with Ford.

While in Washington, the King will unveil a 20-foot high, 66-ton sculpture of Don Quixote on the lawn of Kennedy Center.
