Mrs. Reed was born Sept. 15, 1910, in Kenney, the daughter of Jess and May Woodard Maurer. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cerro Gordo, Piatt County and Illinois Retired Teachers Associations, Craig-Reed American Legion Post 1181 Auxiliary, Amity Club, Royal Neighbors of America and United Methodist Women. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught for over 25 years in the Cerro Gordo school district.

She married Paul P. Reed on May 8, 1947, in Manhattan, Kan. Surviving are her husband; sons, J. David Reed of Saratoga, Richard P. Reed of Cerro Gordo; four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Redman MURDOCK Vivian J. Redman, 86, Savoy, formerly of Murdock, died Tuesday (Jan. 24, 1995). Survivors: son, Ed Tilton, Indiana; four grandchildren.

John's Hospital. Thelma was born Feb. 5, 1901, in Evansville, the daughter of William Clinton and Bertha Parker Hopkins. She was an occupational therapist at Decatur Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of The Decatur Barn Colony Artists Association, The Alton Art Association, Alton Women's Council, Grace United Methodist Church in Decatur, Knox Presbyterian Church in Springfield, and The College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton.

She married Clifford D. Entler in October 1924. He preceded her in death in December 1962. She married Earl L. Wilhelm in June 1966.

He preceded her in death in June 1986. Surviving are her sons, Thomas Entler and Jeffrey Entler, both of Decatur; daughter, Shirley Nash of Springfield; eight grandchildren, including her beloved granddaughter, Robin Nash; 12 greatgrandchildren; brother, Robert W. Hopkins of Chesapeake, Va. several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Friday (Dec. 23, 1994) in St. Mary's Hospital. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial services will be 2 p.m.

Saturday (Jan. 28, 1995) in the First United Methodist Church, 201 W. North Decatur, where Mrs. Michael was a 50-year member. Iva Michael, well known for her many talents, was Food Service Manager of South Side Country Club, the old Sunnyside Country Club, the YMCA Coffee Shop, owner of Rooster Tail Restaurant and a teacher in the Chefs Manpower Training School for the Decatur School District, when in her seventies.

She took pride in her students who became well-known chefs. Mrs. Michael was on the Board of Review for Macon County, an active Realtor and a leader in the downstate Democratic Party. She was always a leader in many organizations. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, a Gold Star Mother and a member of the Eagles and Moose lodges, and an active worker in the Salvation Army.

Surviving are her daughter, Del-ores D. Phillips of Decatur; grandsons, Phillip Phillips of Nebraska; Howard M. Foster of California; seven great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Howard M. Foster, her husbands, Samuel Foster, Walter McClure and John Michael.

Jelks was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Cropwell, the daughter of Doss and Josephine Posey O'Neal. She was a member of Trinity CME Church, the stewardess board, sanctuary choir and was pianist for the candlelight choir. She served as first lady along with her husband, the late Rev. Willie Jelks at Allen Chapel CME, Springfield, from 1961-1976.

She married the Rev. Willie Jelks in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1976. Church in Decatur for 29 years, vice moderator and moderator of Woodriver Baptist District Association, president of Sunday School and BTU Congress: Baptist State General Convention as Director of Ministrial Division for 22 years. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Spain of Decatur; grandchildren, Carol Berg and husband Michael, Gregory A. Spain and wife Donita, and Kevin L. Spain, all of Decatur; six greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, one brother and three sisters.
