(International) CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES TO WEINGARTEN'S WE KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL ENJOY YOUR STORE Electrical Work by GULF COAST ELECTRIC COMPANY Joe says an old chap looked up and said: "I used to own the fastest horse in the world." Brows turned to heaven and the mac continued: "One day a gosh-awful storm came up when I was nearly 60 miles from the farm. I headed the horse for the barn and believe it or not, he raced ahead of the storm. I didn't get a drop on my buckskin.

"But my dog, who was eight feet behind us when we started, had to swim all the way home. It's a shame to do away with dogs, but I had to do that critter in. I can't stand a sJow animal." A fellow named Manuel Finkle- storm, who wrote in from the neighborhood of Council Bluffs, Iowa, swears this one is true. He says he went bear-hunting in the west and lost his glasses, which were common plain glass goggles. He borowed his guide's the magnifying kind.

The near-sighed guide couldn't see a thing but Finklestorra spotted a big animal and opened fire. Without taking off his glasses, he souldered his fallen pretty and proudly presented it to his fellow hunters for inspection around the campfire that night. Finklestorm, who now wears bifocals, admitted he was a little embarrassed. He had bagged a medium-sized field mouse. William Hiestand of West Lafayette, Indiana, tells about a hunter friend of his who has a special technique in baging squirrels.

He goes out at night with a flashlight and kills the little beasties with a sling with a telescopic sight. Here's another from a gent named J. L. Clark, of Erie, Pennsylvania, it's best told in Clark's own words: "Out in the woods one day I found a seven-foot rattlesnake pinned down by alog, and me, the big softies, got the log off and let him go free. Never say a rattlesnake isn't grateful.

"He followed me homeland hung around the house, tame as a dog. One night I heard a noise downstairs, and going to look, found the ratlesnake wrapped around the burglar's legs, with his tail out the window, rattling for the gendarmes." Oilmen Ante Up ForMacArthur HOUSTON A week-long session of bickering over who would pay for eGneral Douglas MacArthur's visit to Texas last Jue was over today. Oil Millionaire Glenn McCarthy, first said he didn't intend to be "stuck" with the $8500 bill; kicked in S2500. Added to S1000 sent by an ano'nymous donor, this will pay for Houston's part in the festivities. McCarthy first refused to comment on an early offer by R.

Cullen, another Houston oil man, to pay the $5000 fee charged by Eastern Airlines for hauling the MacArthur family to Texas. In a statement released yesterday, however, McCarthy said Cullen's money would be accepted. In its natural state sugar maple sap tastes like water.
