Whetstone Mrs. J. Ralph (Inez Louise McKenzie) Whetstone, 76, of Altamont died 1:15 p.m. Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in her home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Kull Funeral Home, Altamont, with visitation 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Mrs.

Whetstone was born in Moccasin; daughter of Charles and Lola McKenzie. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She married J. Ralph Whetstone in 1930. He died in 1967.

He worked at Norfolk Western Railway Co. and retired as chief invoice clerk after 47 years of service. He was a member of Cleveland Avenue United Methodist Church, Macon Lodge 8 AF AM and the Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clarks. He was an explorer scout leader for many years. He married Ethel Maye Drone in 1923.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Gerald Samuel and Lewis W. both of Decatur; daughter, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Price of Stow, Ohio; sister, Mrs. Bertha Mabel Catlin of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

William 'Buster' Copeland Copeland William Harry "Buster" Copeland, 73, of 1266 S. Maffit St. died 5:20 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in St.

Mary's Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's AME Church, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in J.J. Moran Sons Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Copeland was born in Caldwell County, son of Jupe and Lillie Copeland. He was a retired mechanic at Evans Auto Wrecking and a member of St. Peter's AME Church.

He married Madeline Tinsley in 1964. Surviving are his wife; sons, Earl, Jewel, Gayle Lee and Marion all of Princeton, William E. of Mrs. Barbara Tyler of Decatur; Mrs. Lavona Johnson and Mrs.

Surviving are sons, Kenneth Smith of Farina; Roy Smith of O'Fallon; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, three sons, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Mumyon Chester E. Mumyon, 69, of Springfield, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died 6:20 a.m. Monday (Jan.
