Surviving are his wife; son, Russell of Paris; daughter, Mrs. Mary Rice of Newark, Ohio; brother, Milo of Mattoon; two grandchildren.

Sell Kenneth A. Sell, 96, of Mattoon died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.

Wednesday in Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, Mattoon, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Thoele Mrs. Frank (Frances P.

Vormor) Thoele, 97, of Teutopolis died 1 p.m. Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in Lakeland Nursing Center, Effingham. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St.

Francis Catholic Church, Teutopolis, with visitation 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday-at Bauer Funeral Home, Teutopolis, with 2 p.m. Ladies Alter Sodality rosary and 7:30 p.m. parish rosary. Burial will be in St.

Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Mrs. Thoele was born in Teutopolis, daughter of Joseph and Anna Vormor. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Sodality.

She married Frank Thoele who died in 1942. Surviving are son, John of Teutopolis; daughters, Mrs. Art (Jenny) Niemeyer and Mrs. Ben (Mary) Weber, both of Teutopolis; Mrs. George (Viola) Brincka of Holland, 7 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Whetstone Mrs. J. Ralph (Inez Louise McKenzie) Whetstone, 76, of Altamont died 1:15 p.m. Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in her home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Kull Funeral Home, Altamont, with visitation 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Mrs.

Whetstone was born in Moccasin; daughter of Charles and Lola McKenzie. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She married J. Ralph Whetstone in 1930. He died in 1967.

Surviving are sister and brother, Opal and Matthew, both of Altamont. One sister preceded her in death. More obituaries on Page 14. Macon County Clark Lewis W. Clark 77, of 1127 S.

Illinois St. died 7:45 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday in Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Mr. Clark was born in Newton, son of Samuel W. and Margaret Clark.

He worked at Norfolk Western Railway Co. and retired as chief invoice clerk after 47 years of service. He was a member of Cleveland Avenue United Methodist Church, Macon Lodge 8 AF AM and the Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clarks. He was an explorer scout leader for many years. He married Ethel Maye Drone in 1923.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Gerald Samuel and Lewis W. both of Decatur; daughter, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Price of Stow, Ohio; sister, Mrs. Bertha Mabel Catlin of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

William 'Buster' Copeland Copeland William Harry "Buster" Copeland, 73, of 1266 S. Maffit St. died 5:20 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in St.

Mary's Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's AME Church, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in J.J. Moran Sons Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Copeland was born in Caldwell County, son of Jupe and Lillie Copeland. He was a retired mechanic at Evans Auto Wrecking and a member of St. Peter's AME Church.

He married Madeline Tinsley in 1964. Surviving are his wife; sons, Earl, Jewel, Gayle Lee and Marion all of Princeton, William E. of Mrs. Barbara Tyler of Decatur; Mrs. Lavona Johnson and Mrs.

Mary Elizabeth Talbert, both of Princeton, sisters, Mrs. David (Geneva) Adams; Mrs. James (Adey) Grandberry and Mrs. Weldon (Frances) Adams all of Decatur; Mrs. William (Mattie) Crews, of Huntington, N.Y.; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, one daughter, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death. Goddard Lowell G. Goddard, 55, of 725 E. Clay St. died 11:28 a.m.

Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete in McMullin Funeral Home, Sullivan. Hunt Floyd P. Hunt, 78, of Chicago, formerly of Decatur, died 8 p.m.

Monday (Jan. 1, 1979) in Wesley Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Cemetery. No visitation.

Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Law Jeffrey D. Law, 25, of 1153 E. Harrison Ave. died 1:15 a.m.

Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in his home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Connolly Funeral Home, Taylorville, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Owaneco Cemetery, Owaneco. Mr. Law was born in Shelby ville, son of Darrell W. and Betty Lattin Law. He was a mechanic.

Surviving are his parents of Decatur; brothers, Wayne of West Palm Beach, David of Mount Zion; Thomas Todd and Scott, all of Decatur; sisters, Montgomery Mrs. Isaac (Hallie G. Graham Smith) Montgomery, 90, of Quincy, formerly of Iola, died 1:55 a.m. Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in Soldiers and Sailors Home, Quincy.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, with visitation 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Iola Cemetery. Mrs.

Montgomery was born in Jasper, County, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Graham. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, Iola. She married David Smith in 1906. He died in 1944. She married Isaac Montgomery in 1955.

Surviving are sons, Kenneth Smith of Farina; Roy Smith of O'Fallon; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, three sons, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Mumyon Chester E. Mumyon, 69, of Springfield, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died 6:20 a.m. Monday (Jan.

8, 1979) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fullenwiter Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Mr. Mumyon was born in Illinois, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Mumyon. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Wil-ham Mumyon; son, Morrell of Warrens-burg; daughters, Mrs. Marita Schneider of Lincoln; Mrs. Elsie Trick of Spokane, Mrs. Marilyn Smith of Browns-burg, sisters, Mrs. Viola Wilham of Lincoln; Mrs.

Bertha Parks of Decatur; Mrs. Faye Bumgardner of New Berlin; Mrs. Fern Pelley of Kenney; 10 grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Newton Newton, 72, of New Goshen, died 7:10 a.m.

Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in Canaberry Nursing Home, Terre Haute, Ind. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Stewart Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, with visitation 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Water-town Cemetery, near Paris. He was born in Edgar County, son of Tenbrook and Belle Newton. Surviving is his sister, Mrs. Nettie Summerville of Dana, Ind. Oakley William R.

Oakley, 78, of Mattoon died 3:10 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in Mattoon Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Barkley Funeral Home, Toledo, with visitation after 8 a.m.

Tuesday. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery, rural Toledo. Sawyer Ralph A. Sawyer, 62, of Paris died 2:45 p.m. Friday (Jan.

5, 1979) in his home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Stewart Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, with visitation after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Paris.

He was born in Mattoon, son of James I. and Qkel Sawyer. He was a member of Mattoon Baptist Church and the ty, daughter of Thomas Fleming and Almand Hopper McGinnis. She was a member of Women of the Moose and First United Methodist Church. Surviving are brother, Tracy McGinnis of Mattoon; sisters, Dorothy Rude of Mattoon; Lorean Francis of Paris.

Her husband, one son, two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death. Gale Mrs. Ruben (Pearl C. Sims) Gale, 93, of Paris died 9:45 a.m. Sunday (Jan.

7, 1979) in her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Stewart Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Paris.

She was born in Nevins, daughter of James and Sarah Gale. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Paris. She married Ruben H. Gale, who preceded her in death. Surviving are son, Edwin of Paris; two grandchildren.

One son and one daughter preceded her in death. Hornbeck Amos L. Hornbeck, 82, of Vandalia died 10:15 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Mr.

Hornbeck was born in Poplar Bluff, son of Jim and Ellen Hornbeck. He married Elpha Warren in 1949. She died in' 1972. Surviving are sons, James Jim Lee and Frank all of Vandalia; daughters, Margaret German, Mrs. Edith Warner and Mrs.

Geraldine Swick, all of Vandalia; stepsons, Cecil Warren of Vandalia; Kenneth Stokes of New Orleans; Stanley Toberman of Fillmore; Darrell Johnson of Ashley; stepdaughters, Mrs. Betty Woods of North Carolina; Mrs. Ruth Ann Baine of Mount Vernon; Mrs. Frances Hill of Decatur; 6 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Ramey Johnson, 73, of Chicago, formerly of Paris, died Monday morning (Jan. 8, 1979) in Evanston Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Stewart Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Paris. She was born in Paris, daughter of Sidney and Eva Johnson. Lesko Charles Lesko, 77, of Pana died 10:05 a.m. Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in Pana Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be. 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Stumpf-Dodson Funeral Home, Pana, and 7:30 p.m.

8, 1979) in Pana Community Hospital. Funeral services will be in Bellwood. McCracken Funeral Home, Pana, is handling local arrangements. Surviving is his wife, Fonecia. Mrs.

Brent (Susan) Payne, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Cornthwaite, Mrs. James (Jennifer) Long, and Lelah Law, all of Decatur; Mrs. Walter (Judith) Mulli-neaux of West Palm Beach. One sister preceded him in death.

Rapsilber Albert T. Rapsilber, 91, of 840 W. Decatur St. died 8 p.m. Sunday (Jan.

7, 1979) in Lakeshore Manor. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home. Rentier Mrs. William John (Lucille Fern Nowlin) Renner, 73, of Quincy, formerly of 1172 N. Warren died 7:55 p.m.

Friday (Jan. 5, 1979) in St. Mary's Hospital, Quincy. Funeral services will be 10 a.m Wednesday in Brintlinger's Pershing Funeral Home, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery. Mrs. Renner was born in Macon County, daughter of Silas R. and Pearl Ann Nowlin. She married William John Renner in 1933.

He died in 1950. Surviving are brother, Dr. L. J. Nowlin of Dallas, Texas; sister, Mrs.

Beulah V. O'Heren of Columbia, S.C. One daughter and two brothers preceded her in death. Central Illinois Bergen Curtis C. Bergen, 80, of Paris died 10:40 a.m.

Saturday (Jan. 6, 1979) in Paris Community Hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Success Christian Church, near Paris. No visitation.

Stewart Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, in charge. The body is being donated to the Demonstrators Association of Illinois. Memorials: Success Christian Church, near Paris. He was born in Edgar County, son of B.Y. and Okalla Bergen.

He was a member of Success Christian Church and was a retired farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Dingledine Mrs. Ira W. (Daisy Hall) Dingledine, 87, of Joliet died 4:30 a.m.

Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Stensel Funeral Home, Farmer City, with visitation 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City. She was born in Richland, daughter of William and Sarah Hall. She was a member of the Congregational Church and the West Side Community Club, Sawville. She married Ira W. Dingledine in 1939.

He died in 1974. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Hazel V. Kiebasa of Joliet; stepson, Lewis Dingledine of Ladonia, 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. One son, one daughter, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

i Dooley Mrs. P.W. (Louvirna Walker) Dooley, 94, of Taylorville died 12:35 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) in St.

Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, with visitation 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery.

She was born in Edmonton, daughter of James and Linda Walker. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Taylorville. She married P.W. Dooley in 1903. He died in 1963.

Surviving are sons, James of Shelbyville; Robert of Bonne Terre, Clarence of Taylorville; daughters, Mary Fleming of Pana; Martha Brown and Ruby Beech, both of Taylorville; Betty Donenberger of Springfield; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Three brothers and five sisters preceded her in death. Fye Mrs. Edgar (Gary Gladys McGinnis) Fye, 80, of Mattoon died Monday (Jan. 8, 1979) in Burnham City Hospital, Champaign.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Schilling's Funeral Home, Mattoon, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Mrs.
