One-hundred applications were sent to each Knox County high school Students must have a 3J grade point average to qualify They were placed in different offices based on interests the students expressed in an admissions essay Students were not paid Their lunches were provided by government offices including the Juvenile Detention Hall and Knox County JaiL The Knoxville Optimist Chib sponsored a banquet luncheon at Ranoeyfa Cafeteria on the last day of the program The Knox County intern program completed its 12th year Friday Eighty-five high school students primarily senior? and graduates volunteered to work in government offices while getting a first-hand view of Knox County government The program included two one-week sessions beginning June 7 Andy Brads 17-year-old senior at Kams High School attended both weeks During the second week Register of Deeds Steve Hall offered Andy a summer job "I will probably be pulling a lot of records and cross-referencing a lot of film
