the emergency dispatch system that included plans to buy a satellite dish for the operation Officials said the dish will allow communication center employees to work on teleconferences and training seminars beamed across the United States The $2000 satellite dish is part of a $299133 budget adopted by the board Thursday The board has authorized spending $11000 from savings to fund the budget -After approving the budget however the board said it will seek bids on maintenance work both inside and outside the communications center on Louisville Road Just west of UA 129 The budget calls for buying a lawn mower and paying $7500 a year on maintenance Board -members said the system should consider contracting with outside maintenance people for work on both the inside and outside of the building In other business the 911 board also learned it has received bid specifications for a book of maps it wants to distribute to emergency personnel throughout the county The maps wont be printed until the board gets a legal opinion on whether it can pay for the free distribution of the maps: Board members said the system may not be able to use the money from the telephone surcharge for free
