Hbfhdmefs C4 The Knoxville News-Sentinel Thursday May 1 1986 The view and the food good at Mountainview dining out Kenneth Burley jn atowv nn which graced our otherwise ordinary salad consisting most of tom head lettuce This dressing is something special For dessert we had chocolate chip pie which was a disappointment The fining was chocolate-chippy enough but it was too heavy to my taste and the pie crust should have baked longer No responsible restaurant review is complete without comments about service Our experienced conscientious and personable waitress did welL She not only removed unneeded table settings as is proper but she served my wife first as is proper and returned numerous times to make sure that our needs throughout the meal were fulfilled She is an asset to the organization as is the agile young man who described himself as the flow manager KsmmMi It Bwrtoy is The Newe-Sentt Mountainview Farm Location: Unitia Rood off Highway 321 near Friend s-ville Hour Tuesday through Saturday pm Sunday 11:30 am to 3 pm Seating: about 70 (main dining room) Parking: ample Price: $695 to $1595 Alcoholic bovorago bring your own Charge cord all major Phono: 545-8011 (Knoxville) and 986-3765 (Lenoir City) Now that we enjoy warm weather again a drive into the country for a good meal is a popular leiaure time activity for many Par ticulariy when our destination restaurant is located high on top of a hill with a wide vista into the open countryside yet at a place within one hour's drive from Knoxville on Highway 321 about 15 minutes from the Foothills Shopping Mail in Maryville It is no exaggeration to describe the Mountainview Farm Restaurant building which was converted into a restaurant about four years ago as an unusual and different place from most eateries: The main dining room has a peaked ceiling a stone fireplace parquet floor and in the center a large multi-sectional semi-rounded seating area Add to this a group of competent young people as servers spacious tables reasonable prices and good food and you have the makings of a successful operation which as for as we know doesn't advertise The main dining room seats about 70 and additionally there are several smaller party rooms: Traditional menu choices are relatively few There is roasted prime rib of beef (in three sizes) priced at $1095 $1385 and $1595 five popular seafood selections chicken a ribeye steak and two beef-seafood combinations The prices for these entree selections range from to $1595 which includes tossed salad potato or vegetables and pear butter butter and rolls Our prime rib wii flavorful and juicy but not easy to spoil a beef roast particularly if the meat was aged as ours probably was the baked potato: a house specialty consisted of potatoes which were "after bring removed from their shells and mixed with cheese and other ingredients and spices return! into their casings and baked The result of these "twice baked potatoes" (as they are ordinarily called) was that they were a savory side course many knowledgeable restaurant patrons win appreciate We certainly dkL The other splendid entree we sampled was chicken breast supreme The supreme sauce which covered the chicken-asparagus combination was flavored with white wine but just enough to give this dish a little character Easily the single most outstanding item served us was the ranch dressing Ift time to start putting on the whites!
