trains slated Amtrak and the state of Nevada will sponsor a new train to run once a week between Los Angeles and Las Vegas beginning May 21. It will be called the Las Vegas Limited. It will leave Los Angeles on Friday afternoons and return on Sunday afternoons operating on the following schedule: leave Los Angeles at 1:30 p.m., Pasadena at 2 p.m., Po- mona at 2:35 p.m., San Bernardino at 3:15 p.m., Barstow at 5:20 p.m. and arrive at Las Vegas at 8:55 p.m. It will leave Las Vegas at 2 p.m.

and arrive back at Pomona at 8:10 p.m. and Los Angeles at 9:30 p.m. The train will carry coaches and lounge cars for 300 passengers. Reservations will be necessary. In addition to regular fares, Amtrak will offer a three-day, round-trip excursion fare for the weekend traveler at a 25 per cent savings.

The regular round trip fare is $48. The round-trip excursion will be $36. Amtrak is operating the new service at the request of the state of Nevada, which will pay one half of start-up costs and any operating losses. New APT officers elected JUDSON F. ELLSON Judson F.
