Arkansas Frustration that led to the Tigers' 70-player boycott Tuesday ended up precipitating Arkansas's demise on Saturday Venting the emotion that built after an 0-3 start MSU swarm the Razorbacks 22-6 in front of 38968 mostly stunned onlookers at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium The Arkansas half of the crowd was stunned at the soundness of defeat laid on their 1-3 Razorbacks A year that was supposed to be a successful debut in the Southeastern Conference has imploded The Memphis State half watched a team so divided earlier in the week that it walked out on coach Chuck Stobart The Tigers sought to oust their head coach but Saturday came together in one united effort to oust Arkansas felt like it would do one of two MSU defensive end Mike Davis said of Tuesday's boycott "It would either blow up in our faces or it would bring us together as a team The big word this week was The big word Saturday at least for Memphis State was defense Davis led the way with three sacks As a group the Tigers held Arkansas to 157 yards snared two interceptions recovered two fumbles and made life miserable for punter Pete Raether Comerback Ken Irvin blocked four punts to set an NCAA record
