Probate Appointments- Probate Judge L. B. Kuney today announced five appointments to handle estates. John F. Riley of Blissfield is administrator of the estate (if Hattie Lehman, formerly of Fulton county.

Harrison T. Camp, Sand Creek, is executor of the estate of Ada B. Camp, formerly of Fairfield township. William H. Walker of Adrian is administrator of the estate of Maynard Wiggins, formerly of Vermillion, Ind.

John Timms of Hudson is executor of the estate of Leah A. Durfey, formerly of Hudson. Victor Keip of Hudson is executor of the estate of Jessie A. Weaver, formerly of Rollin township. Merit Award- Sheriff Robert Stites eceived them for their work.

He announced that proceeds from the produc award of merit from the Michigan State Safety Commission Thursday in Saginaw. The award was presented to the sheriff for improved safety enforcement for Lenawee county in 1959. The meeting was sponsored by the Michigan Sheriff's Association in conjunction with the safety commission. Pleads Daniel L. The evening's speaker was James Garrett, a veteran an nouncer for WJR in Detroit. He spoke of an announcer's work, describing him as "salesman who never sees the customer yet must convince him of the quality, usefulness and need of the product Such selling, he said requires concentration, sincerity and imagination and "an ability to explore the customer's viewpoint." Radio announcing, he added, has its frustrations anc amusing and, often embarrassing moments. He illustrated these points by playing a tape recording of garbled announcements "fluffs" and errors he had trans- i cribed over the years. Each woman guest was presented with an orchid corsage. PLACED ON PROBATION ON LARCENY CHARGE Jack Edward Campbell, Adrian man convicted of larceny from a dwelling house, was placed on two years probation by Circuit Judge Rex Martin' today and ordered to get a job by May 9. A jury convicted the 27 year old man of taking $95 from the purse of Mrs. Annie Pickering at a party in her home Dec. 18.
