whirlwind finish to rout Tennessee's Vols 23 to 6 here this afternoon A record-breaking crowd of 24074 chilled spectators that jammed Dudley Field Stadium saw the versatile Commodores gain a 7-0 lead in the first period after which the Vols managed to hold them scoreless until early in the fourth period But they tallied three more touchdowns in a hurry while the Vols were marching 80 yards for one to score their first victory over Tennessee on this field since 1926 last triumph over the Vols was at Knoxville in 1937 A dazzling pass play that electrified the spectators with Herb Rich going 43 yards down the side line gave the Commodores their first touchdown But the Vols fought on valiantly until the dam FT TACKLE Stroud Donahuai DoMestein Bnxey DoMestein Elkas Smith Tanner N-S Photo via today for the University of Tennessee band to be at full strength for the game at Nashville this afternoon The third of three buses carrying the band from Knoxville to Nashville broke down here this
