and managed to hold them in check until time ran out with Tennessee in possession of the ball in midfield Field Goal Misses Mid-way of the fourth period after the Wildcats had become inspired as a result of first tremendous kick the Kentuckians gave Vole partisans the scare of their life when they marched to the Tennessee 18 where they elected to try for a field goal on fourth down Wilbur Jameson held the ball and Gain booted it but the ball sailed off to the right missing the uprights with yards to spare The tie was a satisfactory finish for the Wildcats a moral victory if you please and sent their army of 5000 supporters back to the Blue Grass country last night in a jubilant mood For the Vols and their legion of backers it was almost as disappointing as the tie games with Kentucky in 1928 1929 and 1931 The 35000 chilled spectators could hardly dream that there was a tie game in the making as they watched Tennessee take command at the half during which time they muffed three scoring opportunities Tennessee usually comes back with a zip after the rest period but this time it was the Wildcats who came roaring out on the gridiron bent on carrying the fight to the Vols
