Hamilton Crown, living about three railes from Eockville, on Tuesday made a narrow escape from an infuriated ball that he at-empied to drive from his premires. The animal made a rush at him, knocking him down and fastening his horns in his clo'hing. He was rescued by a. neighbor, who heard his cries for assistance. Mr. Ilicbardson, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Bsyd's Station, has also taken charge of a church of the same denomination at Xeels- ville, and was on Thursday last installed before a large congregation. A colored man named Jackson was shot and badly wounded by Mr. Horace D. Waters, at Gsrmanlown, on Tuesday night.

John Earhart, a resident cf Darnestown district, was yesterday committed to jail at this place oy Justice Higgins, having for some time shown evidence of insanity- He was a soldier in the war and received large sum pecsion arrears some years ago, with which he bought property in this county. He was for a number of years a resident of Washington and was a shoemaker by trade. Thomas Mannaduke, of West Washington, was brought here last evening on the 5:10 train by Sheriff White of Montgomery county, on the charge of abducting the child of Franklin Mace, on the 9th instant. Terrible Hail Storm- At Ladiesburg, near Woodsboro, in the northeastern section cf this county, a terrific iiail-storm was experienced at about 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. In a belt about half a mue wide, and for aconsiderab'e distance, che hail fell in such quant'ties as to give the appearance of snow, covering the ground to the depth of fully an inch.
