Open Letter to Voters By Joel E. Ogle Candidate For DISTRICT ATTORNEY Realizing the Impossibility of seeing each one of you personally because our County now has a population of about 150,000, I take this means to communicate with those of you whom 1 have been unable to reach, let me give you some of my qualifications: I came to Orange County fourteen years ago, having practiced law here since Prior to that time I served the office of Los Angeles in an advisory and executive capacity. Some four years ago I resigned the post of assistant City Attorney of Santa Ana after having served in that capacity for three and one-half years. All of the ordinances which 1 researched, briefed, and drafted are still in force today. Santa Ana.

is the largest Municipal Corporation in Orange County, and as Assistant City Attorney of this City much work snd experience was gained with little glory or publicity. By reason of this service 1 am classified in my Service Club as a Municipal Law Specialist. Do not misunderstand me to say, (as some have,) that. 1 know all the law. because no man ever will, but as long as they print law books, and there are twenty-four hours in a day, 1 will find out what the law is on a given subject.

Why do 1 want this office? For these reasons: I want to be District Attorney because it is the one political job here that, fits me. 1 know how to clean up this County to make it the paradise we all want our County to be. It calls for a fight, and a hard one. I realize that, this office can either make or break a man, depending upon the work of that man. And at my age, 38 should I fail to live up to your expectations.

I am done. On the other hand, should I fulfill your expectations, then my future is assured and Orange County will have gone ahead in the right, direction. I believe that the district office requires a man in the prime of life, with the knowledge, the health and coupled with the willpower to compete with conditions in this fast moving age. I point with pride to the success of men of the same, or younger age. such ss Dewey (aged 38) now district attorney of New York, such as Martin (aged 31) now President of the New- York Stock exchange, and the Governor of the State of Texas, now 33.

If you do not see fit to elect me I shall work toward these same lines Just the same, and I shall cooperate with the man of your choice. Sincerely yours, JOKL K.
