"The reasons for taking these steps in were well stated by Mr. Todd and re-emphasized by Rev. A CHURCH TRUST.

We have argued for more than a year, that the religious denominations should follow the example of business men and combine their educational, publication, missionary and in some cases, their pastoral interests. It is good sense, good business, the prayer of Christ "that they all may be one as we are, anticipates it, and we will never convert the world until it is accomplished. The Ram's Horn for August 17th publishes the following: "New Zeland, the world's experiment station in political and social reforms, is also leading- the way to a solution of sectarian rivalry. Important steps have recently been taken to that end. If the present plans are successful the union of the'Protestant denominations in that island will be brought about.

Mr. James H. Todd, the newly appointed superintendent of the CliAIPCO FOR 7EP 5 There is nothing like Asthmalene. It brings instant relief, even in the worst cases. It cures when all else fails.

The Rev. C. F. WELLS of Villa Ridge. 111., says: "Your trial bottle of Asthmalene received in good condition.

I can not tell you how thankful I feel for the good derived from it. I was a slave, chained with putrid sore throat and Asthma for ten years. I despaired of ever being cured. I saw your advertisement for the cure of this dreadful and tormenting disease, Asthma, and thought you had overspoken yourselves, but resolved to give it a trial. To my astonishment the trial acted like a charm.

Send me a full-sized bottle." REV. DR. MORRIS WEC11SLKR. Rabbi of the Cong. Bnai Israel.

New Yokk, Jan. 3, 1901. Drs. Taft Bros'. Medicine Co.

Gentlemen: Your Asthmalene is an excellent remedy for Asthma and Hay Fever, and its composition alleviates all troubles which combine with Asthma. Its success is astonishing and wonderful. After having it carefully analyzed, we can state that Asthmalene contains im men's department of the Moody Bible W. Oliver, ex-editor of The New Zealand Advocate, who said: 'A typical country township, with a population of, say, 2,000, apart from Episcopalian and Roman Catholic churches, will be sure to have a Presbyterian and Wesleyan church, with probably some others. But should there be but the two, they willonly have 1,000" to divide between them, or 100 families This 100 may bejre-duced to 80, allowing 20 for non-churchgoers.

It is improbable that these 80 families will ever average more than three each at any one service, which would only give a congregation of 240. If these two congregations of 240 formed one church, giving 480 ordinary hearers, the gain would be immense. their whole working appliances could be maintained on a thoroughly efficient scale. Apart, this generally would be impracticable. The maintenance of our own denomination in any particular locality niay be a very laudable thing.

There is something higher, and we are bound to the extent that we are true, to aim at the highest. This is the best possible conditions of doing the work of RELIEF. opium, morphine, chloroform or ether. Very truly yours. REV.

A. B. Todd, a Presbyterian minister of national reputation in New Zealand. He is notable chiefly for his success in organizing young men in Bible study and for his thorough evangelistic methods. Having just returned from two years spent in such work in New Zealand, he is thoroughly familiar with the religious situation in that island.

'The most notable step taken toward a union of denominations," said Mr. Todd, 'is the action of three denominations, the Presbyterians, Con-gregationalists and Methodists, who have united in the publication of The Outlook as their official "Fortunately Mr. Todd had received the copy of the New Zealand Outlook which gave full information concerning this important step, and having alreydy gained some knowledge of the Ram's Horn and its purposes while in New Zealand, he placed all such material at its service. Gentlemen: I write this testimonial from a sense of duty, having tested the wonderful effect of your Asthmalene, for the cure of Asthma. My wife has been afflicted with spasmodic asthma for the past 12 years. Having exhausted my own skill as well as many others, I chanced to see your sign upon your windows on 130th New York, I at once obtained a bottle of Asthmalene. My wife commenced taking it about the first of Nov. I very soon noticed a radical improvement.

After using one bottle her Asthma has disappeared and she is entirely free from all symptoms. 1 feel that I can consistently recommend the medicine to all who are afflicted with this distressing disease. Yours respectfully, O. D. PHELPS, M.
