An acting lab, featuring pre-professional training in acting techniques, will also run through the six week duration of the program. Short intensive one or two week workshops to be offered include: an improvisation workshop (two weeks); one of the most comprehensive makeup workshops ever to be students, secondary school drama teachers, and persons involved in community theatre, as well as practising professionals. Offerings include a six-week production course which provides a thorough introduction to stage design, lighting and technical production.

The course also involves active participation in a stage production, in an acting or technical support role, and This summer, David Thompson University Centre in Nelson will present the first Kootenay Lake Summer School of the Arts. Of special appeal to persons with an interest in theatre are the Theatre Courses and Workshops being offered by the University Theatre Centre. They have been designed to present opportunities for exploration and growth for senior high school drama Start off the 80's with a smart decision while saving money at the same time. Francis Fox, asking for a special grant for a new bookmobile. The library has provided books for valley prisons through its bookmobile service for a number of years.

Mrs. Pretty felt it would be appropriate in light of the library's 50th anniversary celebrations, to ask for the grant. Jf funds are granted, they would be used to replace the older of two bookmobiles now in use in the Fraser Valley. The vehicle in question dates back to 1966.
